I will try to keep this kind of short & not ramble...may be tough, but there are a lot of people I want to thank & mention. So here it goes. #1. "Marv" Sharon Snyder thank you for sharing me with this game for so many years !!! I appreciate the support & patience you have had for the last 12 or so years. #2 Duane Lanham, you have taught me everything that is good about this game, you are a mentor & a class act, you will always be a friend & believe me when I say I struggled to keep most of your ideals in play. #3 2011 team, you will always be special in my heart !! Your dedication & friendships to this day amaze me. We may not have won it all, but you guys will always be "champs" in my book !!! #4. Area HS & travel ball coaches. Thank you for all of your support for our program, without the quality student/ athlete's you have trusted us with, none of this would have been possible, sorry but there are way too many of you to name...but please continue to do what you do, it may not seem like much but you are impacting these young ladies lives. #5. Jeff Smith ...you are the one of the most amazing people I have ever met. You have supported me through thick & thin for many years, sorry I took you out with me this way, but with tears in my eyes l tell you how much I appreciate everything you have done for me over the years !!! And lastly #6. This years Owen's Express team. I wish all of you the best & will follow your success this season. I am sorry that i won't be able to finish what we started, but continue to be resilient like you have since early August, & as always "we have to get better", good luck ladies!!! I am not going to pretend to be happy about the events of the last few weeks or today, & the administration at Owen's has some major issues to deal with, but if I can leave them with one thought....it's about the kids...somewhere through your financial & human resource struggles, go back to the basics & figure that out !!! As for me, I will probably turn up on a local field somewhere soon, it is still in my blood, a little time to spend with Hudson Dean looks kind of good right now !!! Go Express

When she's not being an All-American or studying, Owens softball shortstop Brittany George is active in FFA. She was awarded an American FFA degree at the national convention in Louisville this weekend. Less than one half of one percent of the nation's FFA members earn the award.
