Big news for Whitmer Women’s Wrestling! We are thrilled to celebrate Shaylyn Eggleston as she steps into her new role as Associate Head Coach, a well-deserved promotion that reflects her incredible impact and leadership within our program.
Three seasons ago, Shaylyn joined our staff as a volunteer assistant coach after completing her eligibility wrestling for Adrian College & while pursuing her graduate degree. Even with the demands of graduate school, and now as a full-time social worker, she has continued to invest countless hours into our athletes and our program. She is proof that you don’t have to wait for the “perfect” season of life to give back to the sport. If you’re passionate about making a difference, you’ll find a way.
Since joining our staff, Shaylyn has continually taken on greater responsibility and has played a major role in elevating our program both on and off the mat. She has worked tirelessly to increase participation in our offseason freestyle and Greco club, spearheaded fundraising initiatives, organized local, regional and national competition opportunities, and helped create an environment where our athletes can thrive.
Her leadership has also been recognized beyond Whitmer, as she was selected to serve as a coach for the Ohio Girls 16U National Dual Team, an honor that reflects the respect she has earned throughout the wrestling community.
This promotion isn’t about a new title, it’s recognition of the leadership, commitment and excellence Shaylyn has already been demonstrating every day. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done to help build Whitmer Women’s Wrestling and excited to see the impact she’ll continue to make as our Associate Head Coach.
