It’s GAME DAY for the Georgia boys! 🍑⚾️🍑⚾️🍑

Games are running on a slight delay due to some storms this morning. The 9:45 am game between NC and SC is just now finishing up (SC up 16-5, top 7th) and the the FL-VA game will start after.

“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball…..” - Terrance Mann

The majority of the boys have been playing together since tball and worn lots of different Toccoa Little League uniforms over the years, all the way through 12U when they traded molded cheats for spikes and (seemingly) left Doyle Street for other ball fields.

This past spring, the stars aligned and they decided they wanted just one more season of , since most of them are sixteen and about to age out of Little League for real this time. They’ve all said it’s the most fun they’ve ever had playing this beautiful game!

In 2015, the year many of them played All Stars together for the first time as rookies, they didn’t win the D7 banner but they did advance to Sectionals and made it to the championship game, which was further than any TLL team had gone up until that point. After that, they split off a little due to different age brackets but together they won a total of six D7 banners for TLL during their time as Little Leaguers.

After a fun spring of games, these kiddos came together again for yet another D7 banner and moved on to the Georgia State Senior League Baseball Tournament……and made history as the first senior league team in TLL history to win a state championship.

Now they’re in Florida doing some awesome things on the diamond. We had no idea what to expect from our competition at this level but we have always had confidence that can hold its own…..as they proved with today’s big win over Florida!

What a long, strange trip it’s been……but we’re hoping it gets a little longer and a little stranger before we leave Doyle Street for good! ⚾️❤️⚾️

made the most of their bye with a big win today to stay in the winner’s bracket! There’s some big talent down here but our boys are showing that they can hang with anyone!

We will face the winner of the current game between SC and TN at some point tomorrow and fight to keep our winning streak alive!

Southeast Regionals, Day 2

We started the day back at the ball park, watching Game 1 of the tournament, the Florida-North Carolina match-up. Florida won with relative ease, moving on to face us in tomorrow’s game. Our boys are anxious to get on the field and are ready to play ball tomorrow!

After the game, our amazing coaches (seriously……what these guys are putting into this adventure is just unreal ❤️) took the team to lunch and surprised them with tickets to the Rays-Orioles game! The boys had an absolute blast exploring a new-to-them ball park and watching a great ball game!

Now….time to rest up for the debut at the Southeast Regional Senior League Baseball Tournament! Game time is 9:45 am!

‘Twas the night before the Southeast Regionals…..

Team Georgia takes the field bright and early Sunday morning! The game starts at 9:45 am and the boys will be battling Team Florida, who notched a solid 10-2 win over North Carolina this morning. South Carolina and Tennessee also recorded Ws in today’s games, while West Virginia and Virginia joined North Carolina in the elimination bracket.
