Great news we are starting up again upstairs at The Barn Bowl & Bistro Wed Sept. 9th, (we typically play Tuesdays) games are at 6pm so be there by 5:45 at the latest and yes I know the Patriots have their opener but don’t worry we have multiple TV’s upstairs so you won’t miss anything. New players are always welcome and no partner needed, cost is $15.

What an amazing day we had for the 4th Annual Summer Showdown at the Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Fair
We started the day off with a small tribute to someone dear to us all, Bob “The Old One” Burnham, Whom we lost this year. in his honor we had island players “throw out the first bag“ by doing his patented throw of holding the very corner of the bag when he tossed it.
There were 26 teams that came from NJ, RI, all around Ma. including the Cape and of course the Island. We had some American Co****le League Pros, quite a few advanced level players a bunch of competitive level players and a large group of intermediate and backyard players.
They each played 6 games of Rounders to determine one of the 3 Tiers they would play in to battle for cash, trophies and bragging rights. Each tier then played a double elimination bracket and the top 3 teams in each tier we awarded cash and trophies. There were a lot of good battles throughout the day and in the end here are your tournament winners:

I would like to give a great big shout out to Brian Athearn of MV Hunt Club for donating a Starlink WiFi at this years 4th Annual Summer Showdown at the Ag Fair.
This will allow me the ability to have players score from tablets which we have not been able to do in years past.

I just got a Travel update for our 4th Annual Summer Showdown at the Ag Fair, it looks like the Falmouth Road Race is moving up an hour so anyone travel the Steamship ferry out of woodshole will need to be there before the 7am road closure.
If you are near New Bedford you may want to think about taking the New Bedford Fast Ferry. If you choose to come via New Bedford pre purchase your tickets and choose same day round trip for $55 which will save you $29.
If you take this option you will need to walk up to the Steamship terminal to catch the #13 bus to Vineyard Haven which will get you to the Ag Fair bus, rememebr public transportation busses are FREE!

Route and schedule information for the Seastreak ferry service between New Bedford and Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, MA.
