🚨 ASTRONAUT BASEBALL COACHING STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

The future is bright for Astronaut Baseball! 🦅⚾️

We are excited to introduce our 2027 Coaching Staff a group of coaches bringing experience, knowledge, and a passion for developing young men both on and off the field.

This staff is built with a wealth of baseball experience, with the majority of our coaches having played at a high level in college baseball. Their playing backgrounds, combined with their commitment to teaching the game the right way, will provide our players with the tools needed to compete at the highest level.

Our program just got significantly better. The energy, experience, and dedication this staff brings will continue to build a championship culture at Astronaut High School.

We are excited for the 2027 season and can’t wait to get to work! 🦅

Please join us in welcoming Coach Joshua Smith to the Astronaut Baseball coaching staff!

Coach Smith’s baseball journey began at just 2 years old, when a bat and ball were never far from his hands. He grew up playing at Mims Little League before spending years competing in travel baseball and Perfect Game tournaments, developing a passion for the game that would shape his life.

A former Astronaut War Eagle, Coach Smith quickly made his mark in high school, becoming a three-time All-Cape Coast Conference pitcher and helping establish himself as one of the area’s top competitors. He continued his playing career at Eastern Florida State College, where he earned All-Conference honors before receiving multiple Division I opportunities and choosing to continue his career at UCF.

During his junior season, a UCL injury brought his playing career to an unexpected end. Instead of allowing that setback to define him, it led him to discover a new passion—coaching. He returned to Astronaut Baseball to begin investing in the next generation of players before later stepping away to focus on building a family.

Today, with the support of his wife and daughter, Coach Smith is returning home to the program that helped shape him. His experiences as a player, competitor, and coach have prepared him to mentor young men both on and off the field.

We’re excited to welcome him back to the War Eagle family and look forward to the impact he’ll have on our players and our program.

⚠️ Schedule Change ⚠️

Astronaut Baseball summer workouts will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

We will meet in the weight room at 10:00 AM be there at 9:45 and then head to the field afterward for baseball activities.

Please make sure to bring:
• Baseball gear
• Baseball pants
• Cleats
• Water

Be ready to work both in the weight room and on the field. Let’s keep building something special at The A!🦅
