Pete McDaniel – Titusville Community Service Award
Pete started volunteering at Titusville Soccer Club in 1999 and has been Titusville Soccer Club’s volunteer “Field Guy” for the past 15 years. His impact on our community goes far beyond maintaining fields. He spends countless hours creating, lining, painting and caring for 16 soccer fields each season so that hundreds of local children have a safe place to play, learn, and have fun.
In a time when many kids spend more time indoors than ever before, soccer provides an opportunity to be active, build friendships, develop confidence, and learn valuable life lessons through sport. Pete understands the importance of that opportunity and works tirelessly behind the scenes to make it possible. Even when he’s busy repairing goals, filling holes, painting lines, he always stops to kick a ball around with any nearby kids and help instill the love of the game in them.
When teams have been left without a coach and children were at risk of missing a season, Pete has stepped up without hesitation. He has coached teams, filled in for absent coaches, and always made himself available whenever the club needed help. His response is almost always the same: “Whatever you need.”
Pete never seeks recognition for his efforts, yet his contributions touch nearly every player and family who comes through our club. Through his hard work, reliability, and genuine love for soccer and our community, he has helped create a place where generations of Titusville children can experience the joy of the game and the benefits that come with it.
