The Tinley Park-Park District uses a lightning detection system at Bettenhausen Park, Community Park, Freedom Park, McCarthy Park, Memorial Park and Vogt Woods Park. This system warns of actual lightning strikes within a 10-mile radius of the park ⛈️

If the system activates, an audible siren and visual strobe will occur. All activities in the park should end immediately and patrons should leave the park. Park patrons should wait until the lightning prediction system performs an All-Clear Signal before returning to the park. The system stays active for 30 minutes from the last lightning strike.

Our Summer Basketball League is a great way to stay active, build skills, make friends, and enjoy some friendly competition all summer long 🏆

Pre-registration closes Wednesday, June 24th at 3:00 PM.
Packet pick-up is held on Friday, June 26th from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM at the Recreation Center.
Registration re-opens at 7:00 AM on race day.

Awards will be available day of race 🏅

Due to power line and pole damage from yesterday's storms, the west side of White Water Canyon Water Park parking lot will be closed until ComEd repairs are made. The Community Ball Fields, Community Soccer Fields, Pond G Soccer Fields and Walking Path through this area are also closed.

Please utilize the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center lot for additional pool parking. Please remain safe while crews work on repairing the damage. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, tomorrow's Summer Kick-Off event has been canceled.

We know many of you were looking forward to celebrating the start of summer with The Throwbacks, great food, and community fun, and we share in your disappointment. The safety of our guests, vendors, performers, and staff is always our top priority.
