GILLS is a competitive swim team offering professional coaching and and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. The swimmers compete in separate girls/boys events according to their age. There are six age divisions: 6 & under, 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under, and 15-18. Swimmers are placed in age categories according to their age at the time of the particular swim meet. The team competes in two seasons, winter and summer. The winter season runs approximately from the months of September through February while the summer season runs April through July. GILLS is a nonprofit club, is a registered team with Illinois Swimming Inc. and competes in the South Suburban Swim Conference.
