Cedro Peak Trail Event is a trail running race (50k, 25k) held on primarily single track trails in the Cibola National Forest southeast of Albuquerque.

The 2026 race will be held April 18th. Registration will open 1/1/26 on ultrasignup. The Cedro Peak Trail Run features 3 distances: 5k, 15mile and 50K. The courses are almost entirely single track and pass through ponderosa pine, pinon, juniper and oak forests plus the added bonus of great views of the Sandia Mountains and of course, Cedro Peak. ce event bringing exciting trail running to Albuquerque's doorstep. This trail race has it all from non-technical to very rocky sections. This is a good starter race for those new to trail running or for seasoned Ultra's as a great training run!

The trails are just different at night...✨

Chase the sunset and run beneath the stars at the Twilight 10 Trail Run in the Cibola National Forest. Hosted by the race directors of the Cedro Peak Trail Run, runners in this inaugural event will start at dusk — just as the sun dips below the horizon. As twilight fades into night, a stunning full moon will light your path through the beautiful 10 mile labyrinth of the Cedro Peak singletrack trail system. Keep your headlamp bright and your pace fast, as the woods at night belong to nocturnal creatures. It is rumored that the “Ghost of Cedro Peak” drifts through the forest when the autumn wind howls, watching runners from the shadows of the scrub oak and Ponderosa pines. Face your fears, embrace the cool October mountain air and experience the thrill of nocturnal trail running by the light of a full moon. 🌕 👻

Happy Marathon Monday!!! One of Cedro’s past participants, multi-year volunteer, and friend, Michelle “Shelly” Arthur, is running the Boston Marathon today representing Cedro Peak and the 505! She’s also running her last race in the Abbott World Marathon Majors!! How COOL is that!? Let’s cheer on Shelly and the several other New Mexicans running today! Let’s GOOOO!!! 💙💛🦄

Thank you all for another memorable year at Cedro Peak! The weather was perfect for running and the day was truly special for us getting to know so many of you. We hope everyone had a great day out there!
Thanks to all the amazing volunteer tribe of people who make this race possible —from marking the course to helping runners at aid stations, sweeping, clean up, transporting supplies around the course, SAR support, radio communications and everything in between. 💙🖤💛

We’re getting ready for Saturday! Course marking started today and continues tomorrow! Beautiful weather today, but it’s expected to be a bit colder on race day.
A reminder that the second packet pickup opportunity is at Oak Flats (start/finish) on Friday 4/17/26 from 1-5pm. Come by during that time if you still need to pick up your packet. We will be located on the right side of the main campground in the parking lot near the start line.
If you are traveling from out of town and otherwise can’t make it Friday, please be a little early to the start of your race to get your packet.
Regardless of when you pick it up, you will need to check in with us on race morning at the start line. It’s a busy morning and we want everyone to have plenty of time to check in and be ready to enjoy an awesome day!
