For those of you that know our "Prince" horse(brown/white paint)....u might do a double take when you see the new guy😁 Pepsy(pronounced like the pop)is a black/white paint that actually was given to us by the same family that we got Prince from many,many years ago. The family is moving and it was very important to them that this special guy was going a barn that they knew would show him the same care and love that they had since he was 3 months old.
We are always grateful for our beloved farm horses and are excited to watch Pepsy settle into life at Lane of Dreams🖤🤍

🐴 At Columbia University, researchers set out to answer a question that mattered deeply to thousands of struggling veterans: does working with horses actually help treat PTSD, or is it just a nice idea? The Man O' War Project, named after the legendary racehorse and launched by Columbia's psychiatry department, became the first university-led study to rigorously evaluate equine-assisted therapy as a treatment for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. Veterans in the program didn't just ride; they groomed, led, and worked alongside horses on the ground, learning to read the animals' subtle body language and regulate their own breathing and stress responses in real time, since horses respond immediately and honestly to a handler's anxiety. Researchers tracked outcomes carefully, and the results were striking: more than half of participants showed a marked reduction in PTSD symptoms and depression, effects that held up even three months after the program ended. What made the findings significant wasn't just that veterans felt better in the moment, it was that a horse, an animal with no agenda and no judgment, could teach a nervous system how to feel safe again. It is that time of year again- Time to sign up for our youth travel horse show teams! No need to own a horse- riders practice on our school horses at home, and at competitions their mount is drawn randomly from a pool of suitable horses. This style of competition produces well rounded riders that can adjust to the challenge of riding a new horse and the opportunity to ride lots of different horses. Classes for walk-trot level riders thru advanced, 4th grade-12th grade. What do our riders enjoy most? Riding each week with their friends!
