In 1919, Donald Ross designed back nine for play; the Mohawk Golf Club has offered a superb golf experience since that time. Mohawk currently enjoys the reputation for being one of the finest eighteen hole golf courses in Northwest Ohio, with some of the best greens in the state. Our course offers a challenge to golfers at every level, with 6,685 yards of length.

The club held its first Glow Golf event in over a decade last night under a beautiful full moon….⛳️🌕
Everyone had a great time, and we’d like to congratulate Aaron and Nikki Smith!! They earned the win with an even par score of 27 on modified par 3 course that the contestants played on the front nine.
Special thanks to member Ralph Smothers II who served as the “official photographer” when the players passed by his house during the event!

Joe Lucius was a legend at Mohawk Golf & Country Club, with 13 holes-in-one on Hole 15.
He made his last HIO there on May 12, 1984, and that feat has been memorialized with with a bronze marker on the tee box.
Today his daughter, Cheryl DeWine, and her husband Dennis visited Mohawk while visiting Ohio for a family reunion.
They were gracious enough to take a tour of the course, and have their photo taken on #15 green and next to the plaque.
In addition to his thirteen HIOs on Hole 15, the amazing Mr. Lucius also had 10 holes in one on Hole 10 and 31 total HIOs during his golf career.

The second day of the 2026 Club Championship featured two players who know one another very well, and have both won multiple times in the past.
Brock Montgomery has won the last two club championships and he faced his father, Bryan Montgomery, in the scheduled 36-hole match play final.
Bryan has won three titles (2010, 2011 and 2016), and to the best of our knowledge, this is the first time in club history that a father and son who have both won multiple times have faced one another in the final match.
Today, Brock prevailed after playing some spectacular golf and making five birdies during his 12 & 11 win over Bryan.
In addition, Paul Martinez (Seniors), Dennis McGuire (Super Seniors), Kyle Hepp (Junior Boys) and Samantha Young (Junior Girls) all earned titles in their respective divisions.

Today was Day 1 of the 2026 club championship, and we had players in multiple divisions (Championship, Seniors, Super Seniors, Junior Boys and Junior Girls).
Defending champion Brock Montgomery was exempt into the semifinals, but the remaining Championship flight players battled it out for the remaining three spots.
The first two groups of the day featured five former winners - Troy Felter (8), Bryan Montgomery (2), Joel Ardner (2), Bennett Paulus (1) and Jamie Thompson (1) - who’ve earned 14 total club championships.
Troy Felter ultimately defeated Sam Cooper in a three hole playoff to earn the #4 seed in Match Play.
In the afternoon, Bryan Montgomery defeated Jamie Thompson by a 4&3 score to advance to the 36-hole final match.
The second semifinal, Brock Montgomery won 4&3 over Troy Felter, to set up a unique battle between father and son tomorrow.
We’re looking forward to a great day, and we’ll post complete results tomorrow for all divisions. ⛳️

Finally, yesterday was National Lifeguard Appreciation Day, and we want to let Mitch and Kevin know how much we appreciate their efforts this summer in making the pool at Mohawk such a safe and enjoyable place to “hang out” this summer!!

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, we had our third Hole-in-One in four days…..congratulations to Denny Kerschner who aced Hole #3 from 135 yards with a 6-hybrid while playing with fellow member Keith Fuller! ⛳️1️⃣🏌🏼‍♂️

The 2026 Member-Guest Invitational wrapped up yesterday with some pressure packed golf in the ten team Shootout using the Alternate Shot format!
After five 9-hole rounds over two days using the Best Ball, Alternate Shot, Scramble and Ironman formats, eight Flight winners advanced, along with one Wild Card selection and one Insurance Fund selection.
After 45 holes, the teams with the four lowest aggregate scores received byes. The remaining six teams played Hole 1, with two teams advancing.
The two teams that advanced from Hole 1 and the four lowest seeds played Hole 9, with three teams advancing..
On Hole 10, the final three teams competed to see who would be crowned the overall champions.
In the final tiebreaker, the team of Thomas Pressler and Kyle Geary defeated Tom Hayes and Dave Igel.
We had a beautiful sunrise to start the day, and we capped off a long day with a wonderful dinner and some fabulous music and entertainment from The Heartbeats.

We had more “fireworks” on Day 2 of the 2026 Member-Guest Invitational…🎇
Congratulations to Brandon Kisseberth, who made his third Hole-in-One on Hole #10 from 187 yards with a 3-hybrid!
Guest Cole Davison began the day by rolling his ball to seven inches from the hole in annual “Putt Off” that kickstarts the event, and won $250 in Pro Shop credit.
After play concluded for the day, guest Tracy Temple defeated thirteen other qualifiers in the much anticipated “Hit the Sign” shootout. Tracy’s 5-iron “stinger” earned him $250 in Pro Shop credit.
We’re looking forward to an exciting conclusion tomorrow! ⛳️
