Dauphin Street Vault 2022 was a great success. Good weather brought good results, with highlights across all competition groups. Most notable were the LAPVC girls going 1-2-3 in the Emerging Elite girls competition! The evening Elite competition was a crowd pleaser as always, with the crowd getting amped up throughout the day watching performances from the young kids to the ‘ol masters vaulters. Thanks to Drew Bently for once again putting on a great event!

Louisiana Pole Vault Compound returns to Hayward Field and once again loves this place!
pv is the National Nike High School Champion! No misses through 16’8” secured the win in a very competitive field.
prentice tied for the 3rd best height in the elite girls competition, finishing 4th on misses with a 13’6” clearance.

No love for .riche at Hayward Field, but brought back memories of first NCAA championship meet there where I no-heightened… I guess some of those tough meets were meant to help me encourage the athletes I coach years later.

I’m so proud of these athletes for representing LAPVC with sportsmanship, high level vaulting and an awesome work ethic through it all!

Beach Vault at Ocean Springs Yacht Club was an awesome event ! Wayne Westbrook and his crew put in hours of hard work to make this a fun and successful competition. Great performances by the athletes and relaxing environment for the parents made this special.

2022 LHSAA State meet was a huge success! I’m so proud the the athletes who represented themselves, their school and their club with drive , desire and good sportsmanship!
Day 1 was kicked off by Maddy Aime winning the Class B girls with 10’6” and Taylor Purvis with an 11’6” PR to get silver in the Boys Class B.
Day 2 saw Northlake Christian boys Hayden and Luke place 5th and 9th to finish out a great season.
Day 3 was the big day with the girls 5A championship stacked with athletes. Gold: Ava Riche, silver: Rachel Kerr, bronze: Rylie Jenkins, 4th: Natalie Dioron, 6th: Mallory Whitaker, 7th Grace Wallace. 5A Boys highlighted Beau Domingue with the top mark in the state of 16’6” for gold and Justin Perault with Bronze. In 4A girls, Emery Prentice had the top mark on all divisions with 13’. In 3A girls, “Bit” Hebert won silver and Anna Marino was 4th. 3A boys LAPVC medalist was Reid Bodin with silver.

Last Sunday’s 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil was the perfect way to get geared up for the Louisiana State Championship week! Great fun, friends, food and vaulting! Celebrating the season and recognizing our seniors before they scatter for the summer was an added bonus! What a great group of people all joined by their love of the pole vault!
