Happy New Year baseball fans! Registration for the Spring 2026 season opens at when the ball drops at midnight. Go to leagues.bluesombrero.com/thurmontbaberuth to sign up.

14u - Players must be age 14 or younger on April 30, 2026. Registration will close in mid/late February. Teams will form around March 1st. Games will be early-April through late-June.

16u - Players must be age 16 or younger on April 30, 2026. Registration will close in mid/late March. Teams will form around April 1st. Games start near the end of April or beginning of May to accommodate the high school JV baseball season, then end in late-June.

18/19u - This age level may be offered, depending on interest within our organization and leaguewide. Registration is not open for this age group yet. More details will be shared at a later date.

Congrats to the 14u Dirt Devils on their runner-up finish in the Frederick County Babe Ruth League end-of-season tournament. After an up and down regular season, they edged out a win in the first round before taking an upset victory in the semifinal. Middletown Valley White was too much in the final. Special thanks to coach Joey Youngerman for hosting the tournament in Thurmont.

The 16u Dirtbags finished the regular season at 9-8-1, but were eliminated in their first tournament game against a Glade Valley team playing on their home field. Glade Valley Hackett came out on top in this tournament.

The 18u Thunder knocked off undefeated Pen Mar in the final game of the regular season and carried some of that magic into the tournament as they won their first round game in an extra inning walk-off. The Thunder then fell in a tight game with top seed Pen Mar in the second round, putting them back on the field for a third consecutive game. 22 innings of baseball without a break proved to be too much as the Thunder ran out of steam and fell to Frederick Legion. Tournament host Pen Mar went on to take the 18u tournament title.

Thanks to the players, coaches, umpires, and parents for another successful season. We wish everyone a nice offseason. Registration for Spring 2026 will open in December.

It is tournament time!

The 14u Dirt Devils host the Frederick County Babe Ruth League end of season tournament here in Thurmont. They enter as the 4 seed.

The 16u Dirtbags begin their tournament journey in Walkersville at Heritage Farm Park as the 5 seed.

The 18u Thunder are seeded 2nd in the double-elimination tournament for their age level at Pine Hill Park in Waynesboro.

We wish all of our teams the best in their end of season tournaments!

Congratulations to the Thurmont Thunder for winning the Frederick County Babe Ruth League 16u Championship today! They yielded just one run in each of their three tournament games. The Thunder are currently riding a 30-game win streak and have accumulated 4 season Championship banners and 2 runner-up finishes in the last 7 spring and fall seasons.

Thurmont is proud to have brought home both the 14u and 16u banners this spring. Fall 2025 baseball registration will open within the next week.
