Hello CARA members. Very sad news came my way tonight. Beloved team mate Neel Foster has passed away. What an amazing person she was. Her eternal optimism and passion for rowing will be missed.

Hello Titans! Everyone that has been coached by me, knows I love the power of plyometric, yoga, and callisthenic exercise to bring performance. Also if you have been coached by me, you are getting a little older. 😏
Some of our long runs, jumps, prior injuries, and the gym can eventually have an effect on our knees, shins, hips, and feet. Myself being included in this, I have been researching soft plyos and rehabilitation techniques that have helped me and perhaps help some of you. The KneesoverToeGuy is one of my favorite channels to understand holistic approach to rebuilding tendons, ligaments, and muscle that help reduce pain and keep you healthy. I highly recommend watching this video to help get started to better leg health!

Happy Summer to everyone! I wanted to give an update to answer some questions coming my way about CARA.

A. Rowing is not completely done in Savannah. I continue to scout for suitable solutions to building a permanent home for our team. I can report that I have been working with the county with an idea to build a community rowing center. It is currently in the evaluation process, but it does seem promising. However, this will take time.

B. If visiting or living in Savannah and you want to row a small boat, my suggestion is to put in at Butterbean Beach. This is a safe area to row a single or double, but I would avoid weekends and try to go early morning and plan tide.

C. Currently, our shells, oars, and equipment are stored in a "Crewhouse" located in Twin City. Although older and a bit long in the tooth, having the gear will allow for a team start up once a suitable location is established.

D. During this time without a dock, I personally have had to evolve what the scope and mission of CARA is. I have been writing out my coaching lessons and workouts with plans to start online coaching instruction and evaluation. I also continue to guest coach with teams around the U.S. and in Czech Republic. There are also some other things I am working on in regards to designing gear, clothing, and equipment.

C. For those rowing off their own docks or on an ergometer, I am available for private coaching in the Chatham area. I offer Strength, Endurance, Technique training for all levels of physical performance. I can be available in a gym or on the water.

D. This year I plan to expand my coaching experience to non-rowing specific agendas and workplaces. Please consider hiring me to use my "E5" concept to bring efficiency and growth to any business through crew metaphors, branding, team building, and problem solving. I am available for group lecture and discussions.

Facebook is the best place to reach me. If nothing else, please say hello and lets catch up over a coffee. We will always be the CARA Titans!

Hello everyone. In an effort enable me to travel coach and expand the idea for our community getting on the water to enjoy the waterways around Savannah, I bought a small catamaran named Bellesen. Kept on Wilmington Island. I am now looking to sail her on a schedule, every Wed and Fri in the mornings that teach sailing skills and challenge in a variety of weather. I am looking for a regular crew that wants to join in learning to sail, going on small adventures, and help in the care that goes along with being on a sailing team. My search is for one or more people (up to 6) to commit to a regular schedule with me. There is no charge.... So come on CARA, lets go sailing!

Hello Everyone. I hope this finds you healthy and happy.
During Covid, I came off using Facebook for an expression of myself. I made a decision to simplify my life with less internet time. I used my talent to coach in the Czech Republic and around the United States. I focused on art, my home, and myself. It has been quite a process to recover from the change that occurred so quickly and I am happy to say I have done so with success.
In my time away, I continued to strive in my search for a suitable site for a boathouse and to restart our team for the Chatham Area. There were 3 very good situations over these last 9 years, but alas, they could not handle what was needed, too costly, or proved too difficult logistically. During the time of my search, I have purchased a large warehouse near Swainsboro to store and keep the equipment safe.
Finally, we are close to having a location in Savannah that is centrally located, has access to great water, and support from the Chatham county. It really is amazing. I need everyone's help to rally at this opportunity and help make this happen.
I am excited to present the news in a general meeting to be held next Tue, Sept 10 at 7PM. Please meet at the American Legion post 135 located on Bull street. Let me know on this post if you will be able to attend. I know everyone can't make it. Through Fall, I will have monthly TUE night meetings after this one, so if you miss, please plan to attend the next one. My phone number remains the same, but please use text instead of a call.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting or in the future.
Remember our team motto, "From few, we are many" Lets make CARA Titans happen again!
With a morning sunrise,
Coach Scott

Hello everyone. Well sometimes just go with flow! On March 2 at 7PM, CARA team member and friend to all Chris Hagan happens to be playing Tubby's. That sounds like a perfect night to invite our CARA team for a reunion, support his great band, and talk about who liked "Boys in the Boat" movie more. Help spread the word. Mark those calendars now!

Hello everyone. Wishing you a wonderful start to the 2024 year. Yes, I am still in Savannah searching for a location for our team. There are some promising ideas in the works, but alas, patience seems to be the gauntlet we must all endure.
I would like to have a reunion for all members of the CARA team and propose that to be June 6, 2024. If interested in the idea, please like the post and lets get a discussion of the size able to attend and a location. -Coach Scott
