🌧️🏃‍♂️ Unified Track Senior Celebration at MV 🏃‍♀️🌧️

Mid Valley proudly hosted our Unified Track meet where we celebrated our amazing seniors! The rain couldn’t dampen the spirit of competition or the excitement of the day.

Watching our team work together, support one another, and cheer on other teams is truly what Unified Sports is all about. The sportsmanship, teamwork, and encouragement shown by these athletes make us incredibly proud.

Today, we proudly recognized our seniors: 🎓
Hunter Hughes, Jessica Bower, Ryan Sweeney, Molly Banik, Julianne Barnauskas, and Megan Tribe.

Our second meet of the season took place today at Scranton Memorial Stadium, hosted by the West Scranton Invaders. Teams from North Pocono and Mid Valley came together for a fun-filled and energetic meet full of great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship!

What a fantastic start to the season! 🎉

Mid Valley Unified Track and Field kicked off the season with a 1st place finish, coming in ahead of Wallenpaupack and Delaware Valley at our season opener!

We are so proud of our athletes for their hard work, determination, and teamwork. They showed true Spartan pride and set the tone for an exciting season ahead! 💪🏅

Get ready to celebrate Inclusion Week at Mid Valley Secondary Center, taking place April 13–17! This week is all about kindness, teamwork, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.

Here’s what to look forward to each day:

Monday (April 13):
💙 Take Pride in Being Inclusive — Wear Tie Dye

Tuesday (April 14):
🦸 Be Brave and Stand Up for Others — Wear a Superhero Shirt

Wednesday (April 15):
🏀 We Are All on the Same Team — Wear your favorite sports team shirt or jersey

Thursday (April 16):
😴 Be Comfortable! Be You! — Wear your PJs

Friday (April 17):
🦆 Celebrate Unified Champion Schools — Wear Yellow or Dress like a Duck
We will also have our Duck Hunt, where over 1,000 ducks will be hidden throughout the school! The class that finds the most ducks will win a cupcake party 🧁 — so get ready to search!

🍧 Special Treat: Rita’s Italian Ice will be sold Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16.
Flavors include Swedish Fish, Blue Raspberry, and Pink Lemonade — just $3.00 per cup!

We hope everyone joins in the fun as we celebrate inclusion, kindness, and school spirit all week long. Let’s make it a great week together!

Today, Mid Valley students proudly supported Special Olympics and Unified Sports by participating in the Polar Plunge! 💙❄️

Our little community has BIG hearts — together we raised an incredible $4,000 to support inclusion and opportunities for all athletes! It was a beautiful day filled with school spirit, teamwork, and a whole lot of bravery.

A huge THANK YOU to our 45 students and teachers who took the plunge and represented Mid Valley with pride. You truly showed what it means to be ! 💦🐻‍❄️💙

💙🤍 Celebrating Our Seniors 🤍💙

Tonight we celebrated two incredible seniors who have given so much to their school and to Unified Bocce. Molly and Hunter truly embody what it means to be leaders, teammates, and role models.

Molly delivered a beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, and Hunter proudly led our Special Olympics efforts—both moments that made the night extra special.

We took on Wallenpaupack this evening, and while the final outcome wasn’t exactly what we hoped for, we gained something even more meaningful. We grew as a team, strengthened our friendships, and were reminded why Unified Sports is so special. In Unified, winning always comes second to the relationships we build along the way.

So proud of all of our athletes, and wishing Molly and Hunter the very best of luck as they take their next steps. You will always be part of our Unified family! 💙🤍
