Tomorrow, 2023 Mustang Softball graduates Macey Springer and Lexi McCarty will join Coach Dan Schaser at Davenport University in Grand Rapids as they have the honor of competing in the MHSSCA Division 4 All Star game.

First pitch of the D4 game is scheduled for 12:00 with the All State awards ceremony immedeitly following the conclusion of the D4 game.

This morning your Lady Mustangs traveled to New Buffalo to compete in MHSAA D4 Districts.

In the Semi-Finals the Mustangs faced off against the Beavers of Eau Clare. Lexi McCarty got the start on the mound for the Mustangs and pitched 4 innings striking out 5 and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits. Macey Springer entered in the 5th inning striking out 2 of the 3 batters she faced to earn the save. On offense, Lexi McCarty kicked off the bottom of the first with a leadoff solo homerun. Macey Springer was a single shy of the cycle and added 4 RBIs and 3 runs while Hanah Lynch added a double, triple, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs. Senior Hannah Holman added a walk off single in the 5th inning to help the Mustangs earn a 13-3 victory and a spot in the championship game.

In the District Championship game against Michigan Lutheran, Macey Springer got the start in the circle for the Mustangs. Springer pitched a 2 hit complete game shutout and added 16 strikeouts over 7 innings of work. On offense, Kursten Smith went 3 for 4 with a triple, double, single, RBI, and a run scored. Lynch and McCarty added 2 hits and 2 runs each to support the Mustangs 7-0 victory and 2023 District Championship!

Your Lady Mustangs will head to Regional play next Saturday at Colon. It’s a great day to be a Mustang!

Tonight your Lady Mustangs hosted the Falcons of Constantine for their final two regular season games of the 2023 campaign.

In Game 1, Macey Springer took the rock in the circle for the Stangs. Springer pitched 5 total innings striking out 6 Falcons and allowed zero runs. McCarty pitched 2 innings of relief before Springer reentered to close the game out. Lexi McCarty, Lilly Morse, and Macey Springer led the Mustang offense. McCarty went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs while Morse added 3 hits and a RBI. Springer added a double and a solo home-run to help push the Mustangs to a 5-3 victory.

In Game 2, Springer started in the circle once again striking out 9 batters and pitched 4 strong innings of work. McCarty took over on the mound in the 5th inning and struck out 5 Constantine batters to help secure the victory. Lilly Morse lead the offensive charge going 2 for 2 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored. Springer, Smith, and McCarty added 2 hits each.

The Mustangs move to 21-15 on the season and face Eau Claire this Saturday morning at 9:30 in New Buffalo to start district play. If the Mustangs win the first game, they will play for the district championship immediately following the first game. We look forward to seeing our support system at New Buffalo this Saturday morning!

Tonight your Lady Mustangs took their final bus ride of the regular season, which was a short bus ride down US 12 to face Niles-Brandywine.

In Game 1, Macey Springer took the mound and pitched 6 strong innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Offensively, Springer went 2 for 4 with a 3 run dinger in the 3rd inning. Lexi McCarty, Hanah Lynch, and Kursten Smith also tallied 2 hits each. The Mustangs struggled defensively and committed 9 errors in the game which was ultimately their downfall as they dropped the game with a final score of 12-8.

Lexi McCarty started Game 2 on the bump going 4 innings and allowing 5 earned runs. The Mustangs struggled offensively and defensively in the second game. The girls tallied 2 runs on 4 hits and committed 7 errors on defense. The Mustangs dropped game 2 by the final score of 14-2.

The Mustangs move to 19-15 on the season and host Constantine on Tuesday for their final regular season games of the season.

Last night your Lady Mustangs hosted Eau Claire for their final conference game of the season as well as Senior Night. Game 1 was a conference game and game 2 was non-conference.

Macey Springer took the mound in game 1 of Senior Night. Springer struck out the first 9 batters she faced and earned 15 total strikeouts over 7 innings of work without allowing a run. Springer also lead the Mustang offense going 4 for 4 with a 2 run dinger, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Kursten Smith added to the offense going 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. The Mustangs earned a 10-1 victory to complete their 2023 conference schedule.

In game 2, Lexi McCarty got the start in the circle. McCarty pitched 5 strong innings, striking out 12 Beavers and allowing 1 run on 2 hits. McCarty, Springer, and Hannah Holman lead the offensive charge in true Senior Night fashion. McCarty went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs, and 1 RBI. Springer went 2 for 2 with 3 RBIs and a triple. Hannah Holman added a single, a run, and 1 RBI as the Mustangs cruised to a 14-1 Senior Night victory over the Eau Claire Beavers.

We want to thank our 3 seniors for their hard work, dedication, desire, and commitment to our program over the years. It has been amazing to watch you grow from 8U players walking behind the the varsity team in the Flag Day Parade to the young women making amazing plays on the field. Thank you girls!

Your Lady Mustangs move to 19-13 overall on the season and go a perfect 12-0 in the BCS White Division. The girls travel to Niles-Brandywine today for a doubleheader with the first picture scheduled for 4:00.

Tonight your Lady Mustangs hosted the Kalamazoo Christian Comets for a non conference DH.

In game 1 the Stangs struggled to get their bats going on offense and found themselves at the losing end of a 15-1 game. Offensively, Macey Springer hit a dinger in 5th inning to tally a run and the Mustangs later played another run in the 7th inning.

In game 2, the Lady Mustangs regrouped and came back ready to do battle. Alexis McCarty started in the circle for the Mustangs going 6 innings striking out 6 and allowing 3 runs. Macey Springer entered in the 7th inning to earn her first save of the year. The Lady Stangs were lead by Hanah Lynch and Dani Salazar. Lynch went 3 for 3 at the plater tallying 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Salazar went 2 for 2 with a walk to help lead the Lady Mustangs to a 6-3 victory.

Your Lady Mustangs move to 16-12 on the season and host the 6 teams in this weekend’s Mustang Softball Classic at River Valley High School.

Tonight your Lady Mustangs traveled to Eau Claire to take on the Beavers in a BCS White Conference Double Header. Your Lady Stangs needed to secure one victory to claim the 2023 conference title.

In Game 1, Macey Springer took the mound and pitched 5 innings and struck out 9 while only allowing 1 run on 2 hits. Hanah Lynch lead the Mustang offensive charge with 3 doubles, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Lily Morse played a strong supporting role going 3 for 3 with a 3 run triple in the 2nd inning and then later adding a run scoring double in the 4th. The Mustangs claimed game one with a final of 14-1.

In Game 2, Lexi McCarty got the start and went 5 innings striking out 8 Beavers and allowing 1 run. The Mustang offense was lead by Lily Morse who went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, 1 walk, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and 4 stolen bases. Ava Ledesma added a 2 RBI triple and McCarty displayed some wheels with an inside the park HR. The Mustangs earn the win with a final score of 11-1.

Your Lady Mustangs move to 11-0 in conference and claim the 2023 BCS White Conference title. The ladies improve to 15-11 overall and face Kalamazoo Christian at home on Thursday.

Tonight your Lady Mustangs hosted the Titans of Michigan Lutheran for a BCS White Double-Header.

In Game 1, Macey Springer got the start in the circle. She went the distance striking out 10 and allowing 2 runs over 7 innings of work.
Springer also lead the Mustang offensive charge going 2 for 2 with 2 singles, 2 walks, and 3 RBIs.
Lexi McCarty had a strong showing as well, going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Lydia Habel flashed some leather with a spectacular play tracking a short pop fly down showing impressive range at second base. The Mustangs earned a solid victory with a final score of 5-2.

Springer took the mound in Game 2 earning a victory in a game called at the end of the 4th inning due to darkness. The Mustangs earned a 14-4 victory. The Lady Mustangs showed great discipline at the plate earning 8 total walks while only striking out 3 times. Emily Reitz was on fire at the plate going 2 for 2 with a walk, single, triple, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. The 14-4 victory was a complete team effort with the whole lineup card contributing to the victory.

With the victory, the Lady Mustangs clinch a share of the BCS White Conference title and need to win 1 of their 3 remaining games against Eau Claire to earn the outright title.

The Mustangs move to 9-0 in the BCS White and 13-11 overall.

Today your Lady Mustangs traveled to the Benton Harbor to play Our Lady of the Lakes for a conference double header.

In game one, Macey Springer started in the circle and had the OLL hitters confused all night. Springer allowed 0 hits with 12 K’s and 1 walk to complete the no-hitter! Kursten Smith lead the offense going 3 for 3 with 1 RBI and 3 runs. Adrianna Israelite added 2 hits with 1 RBI and 2 runs. The final score ended with the Mustangs on top 12-0.

In game two Lexi McCarty started on the mound for the Lady ‘Stangs. McCarty pitched 5 strong innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 8 K’s and 3 walks. Hanah Lynch lead the Mustang offense going 4 for 4 with 3 doubles, 5 RBI’s, and a run scored. Emily Reitz had a strong supporting role going 3 for 3 with a double, a RBI, and a run scored. The Mustangs earned a 15-2 win over the Lakers.

Your Mustangs improve to 9-9 overall and 5-0 in the BCS White and host the Eagles from Howardsville Christian in a BCS White conference DH on Monday. First pitch is set for 4:15.
