New data from a Canadian research group shows not only are temperatures in the St. Lawrence River increasing, but oxygen levels are going down.

Well, the group that booked for tomorrow just cancelled at 6:50pm. It's super short notice but trust me if you want an experience, the fishing is on. The forecast is almost to perfect. We will go tomorrow morning if you call me now or make it an afternoon trip. The bite is on either way. The staging salmon are in the eastern basin! Water temps are stabilizing as these migrators wait to push up the rivers and tributaries. With beautiful weather, favorable winds, and no rain events in the near forecast this activity and action will remain for the upcoming days. When Mother Nature denies the ability to fish the lake you have to utilize alternative means.

Friday 9/6: 7th Annual Brian Parker fishathon. It gets harder each passing year to get the band on stage at the same time. This year we were partial on Friday. We attempted to navigate to salmon grounds and decided it just wasn't worth it. We stuck to warm water species inshore. It just wasn't happening so we pulled and headed for food. We finished the day on a scouting mission looking for salmon in the river. I wasn't impressed with our findings but a plan was set and the band ready for Saturday.

Saturday 9/7: We changed the plan and met at a different spot. We connected and landed a few then relocated. Spot #2 wasn't a go. Spot #3 was good and we brought some really nice salmon in spectacular condition to hand/net. Chalk it up for around 50 plus hook ups between us.

Sunday 9/8: Lake charter got cancelled due to the gale force winds so the partial band decided to play again. We hit spot #1 and to our surprise we had it to ourselves. It was a slammin salmon fest until we called it one epic day and a half on the river.

Rollup: 25+ fish landed, more than that fought to the near finish that broke off on a rock or bad netting lol. It was a downpour most of the day Saturday with severe winds and Sunday was forecasted for zero percent rain and it poured all morning with even more severe winds. It made picture taking far from ideal so there wasn't not a lot of picture taking. I shared what we captured. Full coolers of salmon went home with the band members, skein for the winter fishing, and sore guts from laughing at the non stop ball busting. Brian we missed you but you were there with us the whole time. Fish on coming up!!!
