The 2026 Spring Season is almost here!

This tryout is for players looking to get on a team for the upcoming Sunday league. Games are played primarily on Sundays, March through June with playoffs in July. Occasional Saturday games may be played.

This season, Majors will be a full-year season running February 22nd through October 18th.

Date: Sunday, February 15th at 10:00 AM
Registration: Opens at 9:00 AM
Location: El Cariso Park
13100 Hubbard St, Sylmar, CA 91342
Fee: $10 tryout fee

The player draft will take place immediately after the tryout. Players are not required to stay, but those who do, tend to get drafted more often.

League Information

Majors: 25-game season, All-Star Game, Home Run Derby, playoffs, and a 3-game Championship Series
Opening Day: February 22, 2026

AA / AAA: 18-game season, All-Star Game, playoffs, and Championships
Opening Day: March 1, 2026

College-level or higher experience

AAA – Advanced
Some JC or college experience

AA – Intermediate
Varsity high school experience

Single-A
Some High School or Little League experience

AAA / AA / A per-player league fee averages $400 plus umpire fees.
Majors per-player league fee averages $800 plus umpire fees.

We are not an instructional league. Players must demonstrate basic throwing and catching skills.

The Venice Mariners edged out the Wailers in a tight 6–4 victory to claim the AAA championship. Both teams showcased strong pitching and timely hitting, but the Mariners’ ability to string together hits late proved to be the difference.
 
Scoring Breakdown
Top 3rd – Mariners
A sac fly by #17 Nick Hand drove in the first run. Then, #3 Richard Lizarraga blasted a 2-run homer to put the Mariners ahead 3–0.
Bottom 3rd – Wailers
 #34 Brayden Figueroa tripled, and the inning unraveled for the Mariners after errors and aggressive baserunning. #21 Dash Tranner reached on an error to score another. The Wailers took a 4–3 lead.
Top 7th – Mariners
 #17 Nick Hand delivered again with an RBI single, and #5 Jonathan Espinoza followed with another RBI knock to retake the lead 5–4.
Top 8th – Mariners
 #2 John Lim added an RBI single to push the Mariners’ lead to 6–4, which would hold through the final inning.
 
Pitching Highlights
Nick Hand ( #17) tossed a complete game, mixing speeds and attacking the zone, scattering 8 hits while keeping the Wailers from mounting a late comeback.
Taylor Garcia-Grisham ( #20) started strong but gave up 13 hits over 6 innings.
Elan Filous ( #17) relieved and held the Mariners to one additional run over 3 innings.

Outlaws 3, Cali Rangers 0

The Outlaws captured the AA Division Championship in a gritty, defensive battle, outlasting the top-seeded Cali Rangers 3–0 behind stellar pitching and timely late-inning insurance.

The game opened with early offense as the Outlaws plated a run in the top of the 1st. After back-to-back singles by Dom and Marcus D’Anna, Chris Bentz knocked in the game’s first run with a single to left. The Rangers escaped further damage by gunning down a runner at the plate on a perfect throw from left field.

From there, it was a classic pitchers’ duel. Steven Cardenas (Rangers) and Garrett Thierry (Outlaws) matched zeros, each working around base traffic. Cardenas stranded runners in the 2nd and 3rd, while the Rangers left runners in scoring position in five separate innings.

The Rangers had their best chance in the bottom of the 4th, when Ethan Young doubled and advanced to second on a hit-by-pitch. But a clutch 6–4–3 double play by the Outlaws killed the threat.

In the 7th, Cardenas exited and was relieved by Ricky Sotelo, who held the line until the 9th. Unfortunately for the Rangers, errors and wildness opened the door for the Outlaws. After a pickoff attempt sailed into foul territory, a wild pitch and timely hitting led to two more runs, including an RBI single by Craig Tolan and a bases-loaded walk to Louis Enriquez.

The Rangers attempted a rally in the 9th, putting two aboard with two outs, but Bryce Luna went down swinging to end the game and the season.
