My name is Fabio Leopoldo, and I’m the Founder and Head Instructor of the Morumbi Jiu Jitsu and Fitness Academy. I’m a world champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and my Academy has been voted #1 in Ventura County every year since 2009. I’d like to tell you a little bit about our school, and our philosophy, because we’re very different than other martial arts schools. The most important difference
is you – we’re focused on your success. I’ve been teaching for over 20 years and have helped over 50 students become black belts. My instructors are dedicated, well qualified men and women who are committed to your progress. From the instructors through to the office staff, there’s a whole team working to help you. Our Jiu Jitsu is different too. We train students in the true martial arts Jiu Jitsu of self defense. We have a safe and structured curriculum so that our students can learn the fundamental building blocks of Jiu Jitsu: how to use leverage on weak parts of their opponents body, how to defend against punches, how to effectively defend themselves against larger or stronger opponents. As students progress we focus on mastering ‘invisible’ Jiu Jitsu – how to be strong and stable with a strong base, how to use angles for defense and attack, and how to make a connection to our opponent so that we can control them.
