Conejo Recreation and Park District To enrich the quality of life for our community by preserving & enhancing recreational opportunities

The Conejo Recreation and Park District is a public service agency created by the people through the use of government structure for the purpose of providing recreational opportunities for all citizens, educating for the proper use of leisure time, and conserving the recreational resources of the area. The District operates several community parks and centers, neighborhood parks, special facilities, special recreation units, and thousands of acres of open space. As an arm of the government, the major responsibility is to serve as a catalyst for community effort by employing the tools and powers of the District, promoting inter-agency cooperation, and constructing and operating facilities which are beyond the reach of individual or private organization effort. The District complements private or commercial recreation efforts and conducts its business in a manner that flows in and around these efforts to provide the community and the individual with a complete set of recreational opportunities.

🏁🚙 The wheels were spinning and the good times were rolling! RC enthusiasts of all ages put their driving skills to the test as they raced over ramps, crawled across rocks, tackled obstacles, and showed off their awesome rides. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event such a blast!

We’re excited to welcome Erik as our new Senior Recreation Specialist!

Erik earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology, with an emphasis in clinical and behavioral applications, from California Lutheran University. He began working at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center in 2022 as a Recreation Leader, where he discovered his passion for positively impacting young people.

After graduating, Erik worked for an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) company, supporting clients ages 3 to 30 with a variety of disabilities. He was later promoted to Assistant Clinical Supervisor, where he helped develop behavioral plans, supervised therapy programs, and trained staff and caregivers.

Grab your radio-controlled cars and trucks and get ready to crawl, climb, jump, and BASH! Join CRPD for an afternoon of RC fun featuring natural park terrain, technical rock crawling, and jumps for catching some air! 🚙💨

Bring your own RC car or truck and take on the course! Limited loaner rock crawlers will also be available.

The 4th cohort of the Thousand Oaks Police Service Unit has officially begun on September 3rd 2026! This collaborative program with the Thousand Oaks Police Department brings together adults with disabilities and sheriff providing community service and education within this 9-month program. This group kicked off the program with a tour of the station learning about the different departments, learned the ins and outs of the sheriff vehicle, asked a lot of questions when meeting the police dog, and more!

We were ready to rock, but the weather decided to go full grunge. 🌧️🤘

Due to weather conditions, the 90’s Rock Show, scheduled for Monday, September 7 as part of our Summer Concerts in the Park series, has been CANCELLED.

We know this is a bummer, and we appreciate your understanding. ❤️🎸 More information to come. For now, please help us spread the word and share this update with friends and family who were planning to attend.
