Our banquet for the 25-26 season was today. It was a crazy season with tons of last minute schedule changes due to weather but these girls made it so much fun! We will miss our seniors and hope to see some new faces join us next year!

Mariah got her first varsity letter in gymnastics as a freshman and our Rookie of the Year Award.

Bailey got her second varsity letter after taking her sophomore and junior seasons off. She also received our Comeback Kid Award.

Megan got her 4 Year Letterman Award, and a special For Meg Award to remind her that this season was all about having fun with no pressure.

Today was Districts for the girls. They had some great moments and some not so great moments but they handled it well. Districts can be intimidating and make you get in your head pretty easily. Unfortunately, that happened on beam today for all the girls but they were able to put it behind them and move on to floor with a fresh mindset. Despite a rough beam rotation the rest of the meet went well. Mariah had her highest vault score of the season and Megan had her highest bars and floor score of the season. There were 175 girls competing today and only 8 qualify to state on each event. We did not have any state qualifiers but Megan ended up 13th on bars.

The girls received some awards today as well. Megan recieved a 4 Year Senior Award for being on the team all 4 years of high school as well as Academic All Ohio which requires a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Bailey received the Academic All Ohio Award as well. Mariah received the Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity Award.

These girls overcame some big obstacles this year...Mariah had 2 injuries during the season and never gave up even after being out of the gym for almost 2 years, Bailey came back to gymnastics after taking a few years off to give her body a break, and Megan came back after 10 months off after planning to be done after her junior season. Even with the obstacles faced, the girls got all of their old skills back and even some new ones and that is a huge accomplishment after extended time out of the gym. We are so proud of all of them and had so much fun this season. We will miss our seniors and cannot wait to see what Mariah will accomplish in her next 3 years!

Last night was our last regular season meet of the season. The girls looked great starting out on floor. Then we went to vault and Mariah had a crash into the bleachers during warm-up so she wasn't able to finish the meet unfortunately. Bars and beam went much better than vault thankfully. There were a couple small mistakes but nothing that can't be corrected before districts next Saturday. At the end of the night Bailey finished 2nd on beam and Megan finished 3rd on bars and 7th on beam. Now time to get it all dialed in for Districts. We will be competing in the 2nd session at Worthington Kilbourne, February 28th, with competition starting at 1:45pm.

The girls finally got their 2nd meet in after having two canceled. Huge shout out to Olentangy Liberty for fitting us in at the last minute!

The girls looked good tonight and their scores reflected it. Even with how well they did we still have room for improvement and look for those scores to go up when they hit. Mariah got to compete for the first time after being injured for the first meet. She competed on beam, floor, and vault placing 7th on vault. Aubrey competed all around tonight for her final meet as a General as she is moving out of district, competing vault and beam for the first time ever. Bailey competed beam and floor placing 5th on beam. Megan competed bars, beam, and floor placing 3rd on bars and 2nd on beam.

We are excited to see the girls continue to improve and will be competing at Olentangy Berlin next Wednesday, February 11th.

This is our 2nd and only other senior, Megan!

Megan has been part of Sheridan's team all 4 years of high school and was the only Sheridan gymnast last year. She originally planned to be done after last year but after 10 months away she decided to come back because she missed it, except vault, she definitely didn't miss that. Megan is competing bars, beam, and floor this year.

Megan started gymnastics at 3 years old and joined team at 6 years old. Her favorite gymnastics memory is all of the club meets where the whole team would stay in the same hotel, swim together, and go out to eat after the meet.

Outside of the gym Megan is part of FFA, a member of 4H, and a member of National Honor Society. After high school Megan plans to attend Kettering College and major in sonography, then specialize in pediatric sonography after graduation.

We are so glad Megan decided to come back for her senior year. Our meet tomorrow was canceled due to the incoming weather but we will be competing again February 4th at Marysville.

Say hello to one of our two seniors, Bailey!

Bailey is in her 2nd year as a high school gymnast. She was on the team her freshman year and has come back for her senior year because she missed us that much! She is competing beam and floor this year after taking a couple of years off from the sport completely.

Bailey started competitive gymnastics at 5 years old but if you swipe you can see that she was in the gym much younger than that. Her favorite event is floor and her favorite memory is from club when they traveled to Florida for a meet.

Outside of the gym Bailey is a member of FFA and also coaches gymnastics at the gym she grew up in. After high school Bailey plans to attend Kettering College and become an ultrasound tech.

We are so happy Bailey is spending her senior year with us and wish her the best of luck this Saturday at Tri-Valley for our senior meet. Competition starts at 5PM!

The girls had a good first meet! It was Aubrey's first time ever competing and she competed floor and bars. Mariah is out with an injury for a little while so she didn't compete but hopefully she will be back for our next meet. Bailey came back for the first time since her freshman year and competed beam (4th) and floor (10th). Megan competed on a sore and bruised ankle from Monday's practice but still did bars (8th), beam (8th), and floor. Next week we are hoping to add back in all of the skills we pulled to stay safe and make it through the first meet healthy. We will be back in action January 24th @ Tri-Valley

It's time for our first meet of the season! We are getting a bit of a late start after we had a meet canceled, but that's ok, it just gave our 2 late additions more time to prepare. Come out to Worthington Kilbourne tonight for their Beauty & The Beast Meet, gymnastics and wrestling all in one! Competition starts at 6PM.

Last regular season meet before Districts next Saturday was tonight. Sorry we have been a little MIA, it has been a rough couple weeks for your Sheridan gymnastics family with illness and loss but we are back and will be posting other meet results the next few days to get you up to date.

Tonight was a good night though! Megan had her highest all-around of the season, even with 2 falls. Jocelyn had her highest beam score ever in high school gymnastics (9.0) and all-around too!

Top 6 from tonight included

Megan 6th on vault, tied for 5th on bars, 5th all-around

Jocelyn 5th on beam
