“Why do I have to take ballet to take jazz or contemporary?”
Answer: Ballet is a pre-requisite for jazz, modern and contemporary dance as it is the foundation. Ballet is important for postural alignment. When the spine and pelvis stay aligned, it helps prevent injuries during complex movement. Every ballet exercise engages deep abdominal muscles, which are vital for balances and turns in jazz.
