Congratulations to Ryan Gottschalk of Johns Creek High School on being named the 2025-26 Gatorade Georgia Boys Soccer Player of the Year!

The standout midfielder helped lead the Gladiators to a remarkable 22-1 record and the Class AAAAA State Championship this season. Gottschalk finished the year with 24 goals and 12 assists, earning State Championship MVP honors after helping spark the decisive goal in Johns Creek’s 2-0 victory over River Ridge High School in the state title match.

In addition to his on-field success, Gottschalk was named the Region 7-AAAAA Player of the Year and has maintained an A average in the classroom, demonstrating excellence both athletically and academically.

This fall, he will continue his academic and soccer career at the United States Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut.

Congratulations to Buford High School student athlete Caroline Stanton on earning Gatorade Georgia Softball Player of the Year. Stanton lead the Wolves to a 36-0 record and 6A state title. The RHP was 14-0 in the circle and posted 0.35 ERA in 81 innings.

Congrats to Grant Gano of Lanier County, the Morgan & Morgan MVP of the 1AD2 Baseball State Championship🏆 Gano made it a tie game at 3 apiece with an RBI double at the bottom of the 4th!

Etowah’s Trevor Condon has been named Georgia’s Gatorade Baseball Player of the year. The 6A Senior batted .504 with nine homers, 42 RBI and 17 doubles through 36 games, adding 15 steals and led the Eagles to the 6A State Championship win over N. Paulding. Ranked as the nation’s No. 14 prospect in his class by Prep Baseball Report, he is the No. 17 overall prospect in the upcoming MLB draft according to ESPN and the No. 20 prospect per Baseball America, which also named him a Preseason First Team All-American.
