The 2026 Kid’s Fishing Derby was another great success! We would like to thank all of the participants and their families for coming out and supporting this year’s event. We were excited to welcome approximately 120 participants and their families for a day filled with fun, learning, and friendly competition.

This year, 17 beginner fishermen participated and had the opportunity to learn a new and enjoyable hobby. The Kid’s Fishing Derby provides children with a chance to learn how to fish, improve their skills, and showcase their talents in a positive and encouraging environment.

The City of Thomaston sincerely appreciates everyone who attended and helped make the 2026 Kid’s Fishing Derby such a memorable event. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
