Maintenance day at Rotella. Venting greens to let them breathe.

Today Rotella Memorial Golf Course hosted the New York State Amateur qualifying. 67 players played for 10 spots into one of the oldest amateur events in the country. Amazingly two of our very own local Haverstraw Men’s club members qualified! Shawn McGarvey and Quinlan Hood both made it to the State am which will be held up in Glen Falls NY in early July! Big thanks to our tireless greens crew headed by Chris Dyroff our superintendent and Scott Estey his assistant for prepping the course for this prestigious event. Also thanks goes out to The Town of Haverstraw Town Board and Supervisor Howard Phillip’s for hosting the day! We look forward to running this back again in 2027!

Our new root pruner in action! This will cut long roots that suck up all the moisture causing burnt out areas and hard pan. Pruning the roots will make for better playing conditions. Always striving to make our course better each season!
