BTNEP's Bayou Cleanup is THIS SATURDAY!!! The day is almost here, and we're so excited for a day of cleaning with all of you!
Here's what you need to know:
- Register by Wed., April 15 to guarantee a free t-shirt! Day-of registration is allowed, but t-shirts aren’t guaranteed.
- The Cleanup is free! We provide bags, gloves, grabbers, and refreshments. We recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, and bug spray!
- Kids are welcome! This is a great hands-on learning experience for our littlest Estuary Explorers about the importance of keeping our communities clean. All minors must be registered and accompanied by an adult.
- Join by boat, canoe, or kayak (bring your own + life jacket). Non-motorized launches are at all 18 sites. Multiple launches for motorized boats are available along all bayous, but not at every Cleanup site. The following Cleanup sites offer on-site motorized boat launches: Donaldsonville Boat Launch, Melodia Boat Launch (St. Charles Community), Lockport Bayouside Park, and Coco Marina (Bayou Petit Caillou).
- Following the Cleanup, volunteers are invited to attend the Bayou Cleanup Afterparty from 1 to 3 pm in Downtown Thibodaux, featuring live music by Chubby Carrier and The Bayou Swamp Band.
