Thendara Golf Club is an 18-hole, semi-private facility located in Thendara, N.Y., just a half a mile south of Old Forge. Russell Bailey designed the scenic back nine which was opened in 1957. Thendara Golf Club is open from May through Columbus Day Weekend in October. The facility offers many attractive amenities, including a fully stocked pro shop, the spacious restaurant, a putting green and a

practice range. Thendara Golf Club welcomes public play, outings and professional events. Professional Rich Chapman and P.G.A. Apprentice Michael Beck are available to provide lessons for players of all age groups and experience levels. Concessionaire Jim Holt provides breakfast, lunch, and fish fry dinners on Fridays during the summer months. He is also happy to cater to large groups, outings and weddings.

The leaves are just starting to turn in the Adirondacks, so it is time for the 28th annual Roland Christy Cup Invitational golf tournament. The match was played on August 30 at Thendara Golf Club. This is a fundraiser for the Roland Christy Scholarship awarded annually to a graduating senior in TOW High School. Christy was a golf pro at Inlet Golf Club, and the tournament originated as a friendly rivalry between Inlet and Thendara GC. It more recently has become an invitational to benefit the scholarship fund with mixed teams representing both clubs. The winning team this year was Sal and Danielle Aversa and Jennifer Blakeman and Steve Young, pictured here accepting their first place prize from Dave Curtis, tournament chair. This year, the scholarship raised $1,250.

Thendara Golf Club's very own Joshua Fortier, Greens Superintendent, shot a rare albatross on number 10 today. Josh hit his second shot approximately 180 yards. Witnesses were Beth McCarthy, Tim McCarthy and John Jeffries.

The Thendara men's Member-Guest was held July 17th and 18th with a shortened event due to weather on Saturday the 18th. Instead of 3, 9 hole rounds on Saturday they played 2. Disappointing, but there's only so many things we can control, and Mother Nature isn't one of them! The flight winners who proceeded to the shoot out are shown in the accompanying photo. Left to right:
Ben Derleth, Jason Roser, Scot Luther, Tim Harwood, Joe Santamour, Dave Bennett, Ryan McCarthy, Tim McCarthy, Rick Bender, Matt Ritz, Brian Szot, Larry Conboy, Jim Bracikowski, Jim Gorman, Dale Diamond and Eric Self.

The overall winners were Rick Bender and Matt Ritz. This is their second championship, following their win in 2023.

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Brayden Campeau of Croghan, NY, got a Hole in One on the Par 3 Hole #16 at Thendara Golf Club. The shot was 163 yards and Brayden used a 9 iron on his Titleist golf ball. Brayden is a member at Carlowden Country Club and was visiting Thendara for the day. Congratulations!

Sharing this from our friends at Woodgate Pines Golf Club. Our starters tell all of our golfers to please not spray bug spray or suntan spray on our greens, tee boxes, collars OR our golf carts. This is the direct result for anyone wondering why or who has never seen what happens. Believe it or not, it does not come off the plexiglass windshields either and we have had to replace several windshields this year. We have tried multiple products and nothing removes it. Thank you to everyone who tries!
