Southern Plains info

Texas USAW South Region is organizing a trip as sRegion to travel and stay for the 2025 USAW Southern Plains Regional Championships in Oklahoma City, OK on Friday, May 16th through Sunday, May 18th.

We will have a charter bus with around 50 seats for wrestlers, coaches, and/or parents to reserve their spot. We have blocked enough hotel rooms near the venue for the same group traveling on the bus.

The sRegion has agreed to cover a big portion of the cost for the bus and hotel rooms for our sRegion members. We appreciate everything our clubs do for our region and we will continue to find ways to give back to our sRegion wrestlers to help them develop.

Final cost for the travel on the bus and the two nights stay in the hotel will be calculated when we get a final number of registrations. However, it looks like it will be around than $350 per person for the bus and hotel. Food will not be part of the price. We will get together during the trip and offer group meals to those that want to chip in and order as a group. If not, then those individuals will be responsible for their lunch and dinners (breakfast is available at the hotel).

This tournament is for all ages and both genders! Boys and Girls 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and Juniors divisions for freestyle and greco. This is a qualifying tournament for Fargo as well! It’s the first year for this tournament to be at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. Previously it was held in Kansas. This change makes it much easier for our sRegion families to get to. Especially, as a group like we are doing this year.

sRegion will have coaches on this trip that are expected to help any and all kids that are traveling with our group. If your club coach is not going to be at Southern Plains then we will have coaches to be in your corner. The sRegion will provide coaches and/or chaperones for your wrestler for age groups 14U, 16U, and Juniors. Parents must make arrangements to accompany a wrestler that is 8U, 10U, and/or 12U. They must have someone assigned to their wrestler that will be traveling on the bus and staying in the hotel for the duration of the trip.
