As a youth coach and trainer with over 20 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to helping young basketball players develop their foundational skills. By focusing on fundamentals first, I can help any young person become an all around better player. It has been my privilege to watch so many of my trainees go on to play at the junior high, high school, and college level. I started Coach D

eon Fundamental Youth Training in The Woodlands, Texas to provide a wide selection of programs including: private lessons ,group lessons, camps, clinics, shooting workouts, and ball-handling classes. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, I have a program for you. I can provide a short-term training crash course for a casual player and I can also serve as a coach and mentor to players who wish to improve their entire basketball skill set over the course of time. Every game is an opportunity to learn, compete, and build confidence.

Our Boys Elevate League gives 5th and 6th grade players the chance to apply their skills in a structured, positive environment while learning teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.

At Coach Deon Basketball, we believe confidence grows when players feel supported, encouraged, and challenged to improve.

The next Boys Elevate League session begins July 11 in The Woodlands.

While we’re proud of the results, what makes this group special goes beyond the scoreboard.

These girls continue to show up ready to learn, work hard, support one another, and compete the right way.

Every game is an opportunity to build confidence.

Every challenge is an opportunity to grow.

Every weekend is another step in the development process.

The goal has never been simply to win games. The goal is to help young players develop the skills, habits, and mindset that will serve them long after the final buzzer sounds.

Tomorrow we welcome a full group of players for the first Summer Skills Camp of 2026.

We're grateful for the trust families continue to place in Coach Deon Basketball and excited to spend the week helping young players grow through skill development, structure, accountability, and encouragement.

While summer often brings a break from school routines, it can also be a valuable time for young athletes to continue building confidence, habits, and basketball fundamentals.

On a Friday night , these players chose to be in the gym.

Not because they had to.

Because they wanted to get better.

Real development is rarely dramatic. More often, it looks like showing up consistently, listening, learning, making mistakes, and continuing to work when nobody is watching.
