Meet Wade Martin! Wade is a dedicated member of the PGA of America and the Academy Instructor at Palmer Legends Country Club at The Villages. With his experience as the US Kids Master Instructor, he was able to make the first Youth Golf Experience a major success!

Many golfers struggle to improve their scores simply because they don't know what and how to practice. Today's post is about discovering what to practice. Keeping up with your statistics is the first place to start. Old school stats are fairways hit, greens in regulation, up-and-down from off the green, number of putts, putts per green in regulation, bunker up-and-down, and penalty strokes. There are also a number of apps that provide much more detail.
Once you know strengths and weaknesses, we can target specific areas to improve.

Tip of the week: Got several putters and can't figure out which one to use. Take several to the putting green along with ten golf balls. Find a relatively flat putt from about 30 feet away and putt ten balls with each putter. Pick out the putters that give you the most consistent pattern. Then go to 20 feet and repeat with those putters. Pick out the best and go to 10 feet, then five feet, until you find the putter that consistently gives you the best results. Sometimes it IS the equipment and not you.
