Eastport Sun Dragons

Last Friday was Friends and Family day with the Eastport Sun Dragons and what a beautiful day it was. The weather was perfect! The Eastport Sun Dragons have always been more than a competitive dragon boat team, we are a family.

On this day, we were able to share our passion for dragon boating with our friends and family members who don't normally paddle with us.

Afterwards, we gathered at the LaGrange neighborhood pool for a cool swim and some dinner provided by the team. Fun was had by all, and it was a great way to bring us all just a little bit closer.

It was a hot and humid end to our spring racing season at Ski Beach. Such a great effort by all the team members, Slayin' and Playin' as always.

Over the 4 races this spring season, the Eastport Sun Dragons took home 8 medals. 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze! And the team finished in second place in Ricks Mad Paddlers competition, which is over 7 miles long. Way to go Sun Dragons!

Another fun day racing and another great performance by the Eastport Sun Dragons!

This race the Eastport Sun Dragons entered two boats, 10 person senior mixed (half men and half women), and a 20 person senior mixed. Each boat raced in two qualifying heats and then a championship race.

In close races against some great teams, the Sun Dragons brought home a gold metal in the 10 person boat and a silver in the 20 person boat.

Awesome effort by the entire team!

What a fun and exciting day racing in Clermont! We started out racing in calm waters and ended the day battling through choppy seas!

The Eastport Sun Dragons entered 3 boats and took home 3 medals! Gold in the Open 10 person Boat, Silver in the Mixed 20 Person Boat and a Bronze in the Women’s 20 Boat! GREAT JOB by the entire team!
