September Golf Tournaments are always eventful! It’s a month where you can be 100% certain at some point the weather gods are going to impact you, and usually not in a good way!

Florida gives us so many great things including guaranteed sunshine all year long BUT when the bad stuff hits it comes with torrential rains, lightning bolts and thunder the likes of which we’ve never experienced anywhere else around the globe!

For our golf kids though our current weather patterns are no more than a necessary evil on the road to future development of their game! We got NO complaints when we had to stop play and when we did manage to return to the golf course after a 1-hour delay all but 3 juniors managed to complete their Day 1 target of 18 holes!

Day 2 gave us a slightly better forecast, and everyone got through but it was close as the biggest storm of the weekend hit us about 30 minutes after we wrapped things up with our awards presentations!

Thank you, Royal St Cloud Golf, for hosting us once again, the course played tough, mainly due to conditions and. you guessed it, wet and soggy fairways to contend with!

Our Tournament number 16 of 2026 was a nostalgic and poignant reminder of how time changes everything! In 2019 our first ever junior tournament took place at this Wildwood venue. Since then so much has changed in so many ways, both for our tour and for this venue, which has become one of the most popular tournament locations in Central Florida. We finally made our long overdue return and it was most definitely one of our better decisions!

Thank you to everyone at Continental Country Club for your support and your assistance in making this another great weekend of junior golf! Our juniors were welcomed warmly by everyone we met here and that makes a huge difference to us all! In addition we can now agree with those who say Continental CC have some of THE best greens around...they DO!!

This past weekend we played out our 6th Annual TCL DeSantis Claret Jug Championship at Glenview Champions GC in The Villages. This tournament was created to celebrate the long-term association we have with DeSantis Appliance & AC Service, Inc. and Tri County Landscape, our tour sponsors and supporters of junior golf in our community for many years.

A HUGE thank you to owners Todd C**n and Melissa C**n for your friendship, support, advice and guidance. We, our families, and all of the junior golfers are extremely grateful to have you as our sponsors!

This one was hotly contested! With a Claret Jug up for grabs, for our lowest overall scorer, it took until the mid-point of day two before the leadership group began to emerge. Each of our low scorers and our overall Champion Golfer are pictured with scores.Thank you to the super supportive Glenview Staff and Management for, once again, making this an exceptional Championship, we will see you in December for another one!

Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 has so many “hidden gem” golf courses and each time we visit a new town we do try to check them out…these courses are so different from the big name venues everyone knows so well but when you find them we guarantee you will love to play them!

When you visit St Andrews and you stop to take in the glorious sight of The Old Course you just never know who’s out there…it’s THE most famous piece of land that god created for us to play this historic sport and today it was 9 time Major Champion Gary Player.

The diminutive South African is undoubtedly one of golf’s unique characters, 90 years of age and still playing regularly, Mr Player says he can still do 200 push ups daily and he even demonstrated some moves to the waiting spectators that a lot of 60 year old would struggle with, just trust me on that one!

Keep hitting them Mr Player …you are a great example to so many of us and the best example I know for junior golfers who need examples of how enduring our sport can be when you take good care of your body and your mind!

Eagle Ridge GC in Summerfield was the venue this past weekend as we finished off our first half of Season 2026 with yet another exciting junior tournament!

The story of the season so far is we have now played 28 days of nationally ranked tournament golf at 12 great Florida venues. We have made 52 Winners Medalist Awards to 40 junior golfers and given 23 low scoring medalist players FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Awards...we are pretty pleased with that total for the first half of 2026...lots more to come though when we resume in a few weeks’ time and play through to the end of December!

Two days of strong competition in exceptionally hot and humid conditions faced our juniors. Weather conditions that often-threatened impending lightning storms and downpours BUT our collective”weather prayers” on this occasion proved successful and we got through 36 holes without any need to stop play!Congratulations to each of our low scorers and a huge “Well Played” shout out to everyone in this player field who tackled another tough and challenging venue, in uncomfortably warm conditions, and NEVER once complained about it...each week these young golfers demonstrate great character and resilience as they compete in their sport and we are very proud of all of them!

Rounding up on another set of recent tournament results this one was strongly contested by our junior golfers over 36 tough and demanding holes at Stoneybrook West GC in Winter Garden.
