Iron Trinity Jiu Jitsu

Iron Trinity Jiu Jitsu At Iron Trinity, we forge stronger and safer communities through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Lifelong friends Drew Allen and Shane Rusk had a dream of one day opening their own martial arts academy, jokingly speculating they might be 50 before achieving it. However, their journey took an unexpected turn when their success in private healthcare ventures allowed them to “jump the gun” (as Shane puts it) on their dream a decade sooner than anticipated. Both Drew and Shane, as martial artists

, have personally witnessed the profound, life-changing impacts that occur on the mats. From this shared experience emerged the vision of Iron Trinity, born out of a desire to cultivate communities that are stronger, safer, and more self-reliant. Drew and Shane are joined by a dedicated ownership team comprising Augusta Owens, Erik Hicks, and Clay Elliott. Each member brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from diverse backgrounds including the United States Military, corporate America, and the broader martial arts community. At Iron Trinity, you will find a community that is welcoming of all people. Our mission is to empower individuals and transform lives through martial arts practice, prioritizing sport, physical fitness, and self-defense. We are unwaveringly committed to nurturing a supportive environment that fosters personal growth, discipline, and self-confidence. Our aim is to cultivate individuals who are not only strong and confident but also compassionate, carrying the invaluable benefits of martial arts into every facet of their lives.

Back at the grind this week. 👊

Every class, every round, every rep is another opportunity to get better. Progress doesn’t happen by accident—it comes from showing up and putting in the work.

The week is already moving. Make it count.

Congratulations to our competitors this weekend at the Jiu Jitsu World League Dallas Open. Hard work paid off for everyone. Each competitor grew and had success in the mats.

Special thanks to the instructors who were able to be there to coach our team on to victory. Drew Allen, Richard Webber Rico and Jennifer McWhorter

Control the body. Control the position. Pass the guard.

A strong guard pass isn’t just about getting around the legs—it’s about controlling your opponent’s movement, taking away their options, and advancing with purpose.

Control first. Pass second. Dominate the position.

Fresh week. Fresh start. 💪

Whatever you’re looking to accomplish—getting stronger, building confidence, learning new skills, competing, or simply becoming a better version of yourself—Iron Trinity can help you get there.

Your goals don’t happen overnight. They happen one class, one rep, and one day at a time.

Start your week on the mats. 🥋

Control the inside grips. Win the head position. Set up the takedown.

Good takedowns aren’t just about speed or strength—they start with controlling the position before the shot ever happens. Own the inside space, control the head, and create the opening you need.

Control first. Attack second. 🤼‍♂️🥋

Our youth athletes are doing great things! 💪🥋

Every class, we see them building confidence, sharpening their skills, and learning what it means to work hard—even when things get tough. The progress on the mats is great to see, but we’re even more proud of the young people they’re becoming.

Keep showing up. Keep working. Keep growing.

🥋 Building More Than Jiu Jitsu Skills

Jiu Jitsu teaches kids that progress is earned.

Show up. Work hard. Stay committed. Keep going when something is difficult.

Those lessons build dedication, discipline, and confidence—qualities that matter on the mats, at school, and everywhere else life takes them.

We’re not just building better martial artists. We’re helping build strong, capable young people.

The flashiest techniques don’t win matches on their own—strong fundamentals do.

Every clean escape, every solid guard pass, every controlled takedown, and every successful submission is built on thousands of repetitions of the basics. Master the fundamentals, and you’ll have a game that holds up under pressure when it matters most.

Stay consistent. Trust the process. Perfect the basics.

08/05/2026

Every round starts the same.

The difference is rarely talent. It’s preparation, discipline, and the willingness to keep showing up when the work gets hard.

Train consistently. Trust the process. Let the results take care of themselves.
