Dan was the man!

December 2, 1985: On this day 40 years ago, the Miami Dolphins defeated the Chicago Bears 38-24 on a Monday night in front of 75,584 fans at the Orange Bowl. Pictured below: Dan Marino fires a pass before Chicago's Richard Dent can arrive.

The Bears entered the game with a 12-0 record and the NFL's best defense. But they were no match for Dan Marino, who threw for 270 yards and 3 touchdown passes. The Dolphins stormed to a 31-10 halftime lead and never looked back. Bears running back Walter Payton would set a then NFL record with his 8th consecutive 100-yard rushing game. It would be Chicago's only loss during its only Super Bowl championship season. The ABC broadcast had the highest television rating for a regular season game.

Who had the better first career Tripple double? Micheal Jordan recorded his first triple double January 14, 1985. He put up 35 points Grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 15 assist.

Shaquille O’Neal recorded his first career triple-double on November 20, 1993, while playing for the Orlando Magic. In that game against the New Jersey Nets, he posted 24 points, 28 rebounds, and 15 blocks.. Who’s Tripple Double was better?
