LIBERIANS, WE NEED TO WAKE UP! 🇱🇷⚽
One or two good performances can easily make us complacent. After the Lone Star U17 team’s opening game against Guinea in the WAFU Zone A tournament, we became so satisfied with the result that many of us forgot the bigger picture — we are in a competition, not a celebration.
We went into the game against Gambia as if Gambia wasn’t one of the tournament favorites. The result? We lost.
And yet, even after the defeat, some of us continue to praise the team as if nothing happened.
There is nothing wrong with appreciating our players, but support should not blind us from reality. We are now just one game away from potentially missing out on another major competition.
This is where the hunger must come in.
Liberia needs to stop celebrating the bare minimum. 🇱🇷
One good performance is not success. One win is not an achievement. We must demand consistency, urgency, improvement and, most importantly, the hunger to compete until the very end.
Let’s appreciate the boys, but let’s also hold ourselves to a higher standard. We must want MORE for Liberia. 🇱🇷🔥
