(Heads up, long post)
Bittersweet announcement for my TSC fam - this will be my last week working at Tewksbury Sports Club.
I’m so grateful for the last 5 years to have been a part of of this community, to have witnessed its growth (as you all witnessed mine) and more importantly, to have been a part of your lives.
You guys sweat your butts off in Tread Shred and learned you were capable of anything at a Spartan Race finish line. You welcomed your own strength with barbells and connected to self care in yoga. For many of you, you just needed to believe in the power of yourself.
It gave me so much joy to support you all in your fitness journey. We started TSC’s group training program with bootcamp and you guys helped me become the only TSC trainer that’s won the Biggest Winner twice.
If I’m being truly honest, there’s a large part of me that wishes I could have done even more - and that’s a big driver into where I’ll be headed next.
I’ve been feeling for a long time that there’s something missing in the coach-client relationship. There’s only so much we can cover in the 30 min sessions 1-2 a week. There’s only so much support I can offer alone, especially when we’re only able to connect 1 hour out of the 168 in a week.
When it comes to making change to your fitness, nutrition and mindset, it’s the rest of the day, the rest of the week, and the rest of your life when you could really use support. The unfortunate truth is, I can’t be there to slap a muffin out of your hand, to tell you to go to bed on time, to go with you to the grocery store or put a water bottle in your hand, sit with you every morning to take 10 belly breaths - BUT THAT’S WHERE THE MAGIC IS - in those small daily habits. And it’s not that you guys expected that of me, but making change in health/weight/fitness can be SUPER HARD (that’s why it’s such an accomplishment when you reach a goal) and most of us need that daily encouragement and accountability.
AND SO…. I helped to figure out a way.
The universe aligned almost 2 years ago when I met Jess Lynch - Jess knew well from helping others toward their goals that the right accountability and support is the key to making it happen and wanted to create a way for everyone to have that support all the time. We took a leap together with a badass team, and now we’re a bonfide Boston start-up launching this year.
Ever had a feeling of “I know what to do, I just need to do it” or “I just can’t get out my own way”? Wishroute is what will get you unstuck and *finally* headed toward your goals.
We’re not an app- we text you daily to check-in and ask if you followed through, and offer support on the days you couldn’t make it happen (instead of waiting a week to tell your trainer). If you made it happen, not only are you one step closer toward a healthier you, you’ll also win points that lead up tk surpise gifts in the mail - PRIZES?! YES please!
We get you toward exercising with the busiest schedule, finally meal prepping, quitting sugar, stop mindless snacking, and overall FINALLY following through with your goals and living your best freakin’ life ever.
I’m so excited to bring this support to so many (I cannot for you all try it!). With so much to do to get ready for a 2020 launch, I’ll be putting my full-time effort into creating the most inspired, badass product ever.
