2023 brought the highs and the lows as every year does.

Highs:

💫 Thing 1 graduated from high school
💫 All 3 Things started new schools
💫 We bought a new house and moved again
💫Lots of beach time
💫 Amazing family vacation
💫 Thing 3 tried a new sport, volleyball
💫 We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary
💫 Thing 2 was confirmed in the church
💫 We saw the Army/Navy game at Gillette
💫 We spent lots of time with family and friends
💫 Thing 2 got his drivers license

There were lows as well, but I’m focusing on the highs.

My wish for everyone is that your 2024 has more highs than lows…that you are able to ride the waves.

I’m late on National daughter Day and maybe on time for National Son Day….soooo that means you get National Kid Day from me! Love these three more than they could ever know!

I have brought my kid in this rink twice a week for the past two months…but I just noticed this sign the other day.

Travis Roy was an amazing person in so many ways. He went out of his way a few years ago to seek out the boy in Florida with the hockey net in the driveway.

He told him, that he was going to follow his career. Tragically, Travis passed away a few short months later.

He made an impression wherever he went. As my boy starts to get ready to move out and head to prep school this weekend, I can’t help but think that 24 might be smiling down on him. And me “noticing” this mural for the first time, was his way of letting me know.

Cloud covered, low tide beach miles on this beautiful Monday morning. Brought home some sand and seaweed in my shoes.

It wasn’t fast…it wasn’t great…it wasn’t bad…it just was.

Wasn’t the fastest…wasn’t the slowest…but it was the furthest run since my marathon last September.

Felt pretty good until I hurdled a tide pool about 5 miles in. Then my back and sciatica weren’t happy. Oops 🤷🏽‍♀️

I did a little over 13 miles this week. Hoping to keep it up while feeling strong too.

When your kids kick you out of the house to prepare a wonderful anniversary dinner…complete with apps, dessert, and a playlist that includes your wedding songs and other special songs.

They are keepers for sure!
