Riley Recreation League is doing it again! For our younger players (ages 6-8 only) looking for a fast-paced, high-repetition pickup style sandlot league that doesn't break the bank, we're bring it back! SANDLOT SLUGGERS returns every Thursday in July! For only $25 per player, show up when you can, don't feel guilty if you can't! Visit www.rileyrec.org/sluggers for more information and to get registered. Spots are LIMITED!

Sandlot Sluggers Rules / Concept
Gameplay Rules: Coach Pitch

-3 different teams consisting of 5-6 players- (outfielders, infielders, hitters)
-5 run max per inning, or 3 outs on hitting team.
Rotation of teams= Outfield→ Infield (1b, 2b, 3b, SS, C (P if needed)→ Hitters
-2 teams on defense (outfield & infield) have to work together to get 3 outs on the hitting team before allowing 6 runs.
-Cannot play the same position twice in a row in the outfield or infield
-Must hit in the same order each time up to bat; all batters should be in the lineup.
-5 pitches to the hitter. If the 5th pitch is fouled, another pitch is thrown until the batter strikes out, or the ball is put in play.
-Games are 6 innings/60 minutes. No new innings started after the 60 minute time ends.
-All coach/umpire decisions are FINAL.

Scoring incentives:
-Executing a double play; results in 2 runs for the defensive team(s) involved
-1,2,3 inning results in 2 runs for the defensive team(s) involved.

Fall recreation league baseball and softball begins August 31 and we are ready to see you on the fields again! Let us welcome you to (or back to) the RRL family at Volunteer Field! We have no residency requirements and no experience required; just the desire to have fun and play ball!
