What is art?
Taking things from a tree and turning them into something beautiful isn’t art. The process is art. From hearing the timber break from its weight. The sound of sand paper repelling against wood in the middle night hours. The texture of urethane not dry. The site of smoke puffing off the laser. I had the pleasure of running my Sandhill Crane call at the Grand National Call Makers Awards and Auction. Thanks to all who took the time to congratulate me on the award. I found out yesterday that I was Second in Best of Show Waterfowl. The call was made from Stabilizer Buckeye Burl with our custom AWS Guts

Here are my entries for the Grand National Call Making Competition. Out of 1488 entries I was fortunate enough to come in 1st Place in one Division with my Sandhill Crane call. This has been a call I have worked on getting better for a number of years. It is the first time entering it in the contest. It feels great to bring this awards back to Meigs County where we are known for our Sandhill Cranes and the Sandhill Crane Festival.

Man….God has blessed us with another opportunity to go hang out with some cool kids. Well that’s what I call you guys. Because I love hanging out listening to stories and catching up with like minded folks. We are hitting the road and going East. Guys and gals come out and join us this Saturday at the store in Charlotte, NC. We should have a great time talking turkey and getting ready for the Spring Season!

I give God the praise because he blesses my steps each day.

Very Cool Boat and Great Cause To Support Waterfowl and Wetlands Research.

We had a great time at Delta Waterfowl Foundation. We would like to thank everyone who came by to talk hunting. Check out this cool video from our customer Caleb Harris “RJ”from the TV Show Ride Of Your Life who came by last night for a tune up and some call lessons.

Did you know if growl too much into your call you can change that by blowing clean air. How do you do that? Most people learn to blow a duck call quack by inflecting the word Oot or Hoot in to the call. Changing the word to Trenn or Krenn will remove most of the vibration that is hard to retrain train once you develop muscle memory. Try this next time you’re frustrated with your calling.
