Burst Wizard AEG 3-round burst Mosfet

Burst Wizard AEG 3-round burst Mosfet Burst Wizard King Kong Elite is your #1 choice for a plug-and-play and hardwired 3-round burst Mosfe

11/01/2015

After huge number of Wizard MOSFETs being sold around the world, it is gratifying to know that majority of players love them. They all think that Burst Wizard does enhance the function, reliability and most importantly fun for the game!

Most people also like and adapt to its simple way of programming using just the trigger switch even when there are 15 commands available to custom it to their exact playing preference.

Although Burst Wizard is almost as powerful in plug-and-play mode, some people ultimately hardwire it into their AEG to get some power enhancement as well as 100% trigger switch protection.

For those people, they will be happy to know that starting from June, 2015, new burst wizards come with mating connector to ease up the task of hardwiring. Now, no more soldering is needed at the Burst Wizard side to allow it to be hooked up for hardwire mode. Just plug the connector cable to the Burst Wizard on one end and solder the other end of the supplied cable to the trigger switch. That is it!

Now, Burst Wizard can claim that it is the most user friendly MOSFET on the market to fit any AEG and users need!

For true Burst Wizard fans’ eyes only!

Time to brag about why Burst Wizard is loved by so many of you!

1) Out of the box 3-round burst with 0.6 second resume fullauto – That is what most of you want when you look for a burst MOSFET. That’s why Burst Wizard gives you true plug-and-play 3-round burst with no loss of fullauto power right out of the box.

2) Plug-and-play Or Hardwire Your Choice – Easier said than done. But Burst Wizard got it implemented first in the world and is the best. Just check out the size and features of a Burst Wizard versus others, it is nearly half the size of other similar products on the market at 1.3” (33mm) L x 0.6” (15mm) W x 0.35” (9mm) H. Everyone with some skills can follow instruction to build a plain MOSFET for his AEG, but it takes years of computer software and hardwire experience to transform what most airsoft users want into a Burst Wizard. You are the smart ones to take advantage of that!

3) Micro switch compatible – Unlike plain MOSFETs with or without AB and even some computerized MOSFETs, Burst Wizard is 100% immune to bouncing of the micro switch due to vibration during firing cycle that causes MOSFET and AB components to overheat and degrade their capability to deliver full battery power to the motor. Burst Wizard anticipates vibration and imperfect switch contacts in real world usage and has built-in algorithm to ignore them totally so its MOSFET and AB components are working at full power and efficiency regardless of what trigger switch mechanisms you throw it into!

4) Cycle Gear Burst Technology – This is the backbone of all the advanced features from the Burst Wizard. If you can’t count the gear turning cycles, there is very little that you can do to control the AEG. Look at Gate MERF 3.2, its 3-round burst is just a fixed time delay that you can never set it perfect because battery power is not constant throughout the discharging cycle. But Burst Wizard self adjusts its 3-round burst cycle time dynamically to give you consistent 3-round burst and does that in both plug-and-play and hardwired mode.

5) Trigger switch interactive I/O system – Burst Wizard provides you one of the easiest ways to input (program) and output (status).

6) Calibration capability – Only you know what is perfect as far as firing is concerned. Burst Wizard puts you in total control to tune your AEG to fire no-cock, half-cock or full-cock that suits your game and playing skill.

7) Sniper delay and lock to SEMI AUTO mode – There are lots of playing fields out there that demand either a few seconds pause before allowing a 450 fps gun to fire burst round or fire SEMI AUTO only. Burst Wizard allows you to easily comply with field rules with no inconvenience or expensive gun modifications.

8) Adaptive Resettable fuse – Burst Wizard’s fuse implementation doesn’t carry a fixed ampere rating, it adapts to users’ AEG! You can have the most powerful AEG or a lightest spring AEG, the protection level is the same and doesn’t false trip. One day this feature will save your butt!

9) Real steel ROF tuning (BW 3 MULSIM) – it is true that any AEG can fire real steel ROF if a right battery size and voltage are used. But you probably don’t like it that much because of the sluggishness and slow trigger response from those lower power batteries. Those are the ones that generally generate enough power to fire your gun at 10 ~ 20 rounds per second.
Who doesn’t want the quickest trigger response gun to hit his or her opponent first during a game battle! Burst Wizard allows you to easily set it up with a 11.1V LIPO battery without adding too much extra wear and tear to your gun to fire real steel ROF with quickest trigger response. Now, no one has to go that far as to buy an expansive Polar Star or Systema gun to get that sensational real steel experience!

10) True BB counter (BW 3 MILSIM) – Finally, there is an easy way to emulate magazine capacity and change time for MILSIM games without needing users to hang twelve magazines around their belt. This is a huge deal for a lot of players. This feature can also be used to give you warning that your high CAP magazine is about to run out!

11) Lowest cost upgrade for everyone –Burst Wizard is the lowest price full feature computerized MOSFET in the world. Now, everyone can enjoy what a stock AEG can’t accomplish without costing an arm and a leg like Polar Star and Systema guns! Of course there are a lot of things that Systema gun has that $100~$200 dollars guns don’t. But without the incredible engine that Burst Wizard turns every stock gearbox into, all other upgrades like new hop-up barrels or fabulous gearbox set don’t work out as good.

Micro Switch with Burst Wizard, safe to use or not!

Little bit micro switch background:

The problem of using micro switch is that the micro switch bounces from the vibration of firing that causes sparking and overheating as though a super human is repeatedly pulling and releasing the trigger tens or even hundreds of times per firing cycle!

This kind of unforeseen abuse by the nature of its design to provide quicker trigger response with close-gap contacts accelerates the aging and usage life of it. To make matters worse is the fact that it needs to handle very high current, therefore it requires a certain gauge (size) contacts making too light weight design not practical too.

Even if someone is to employ a plain MOSFET to bypass high current through the switch, its bouncing nature is absolutely awful for MOSFET with AB and bad for MOSFET without AB because it triggers many on /off cycles per firing to the MOSFET to overheat it and hinder the power that it can deliver to the motor!

Microswitches that are rated for smaller current have lighter moving parts which make them have less or close to no bouncing, but 11A ones are still too close to the 15A ones (stock ones) which have bouncing problem.

Depends on your gun build and your battery, you maybe able to use those 11A ones directly, without MOSFET. They will be overloaded, and they will burn eventually, but hopefully not too much faster than the stock one.

So how does Burst Wizard behave when you decide to use it with a micro switch AEG?

Good news! Burst Wizard is friendly with micro switches even if they bounce like crazy!

It is because Burst Wizard has built in algorithm to sense any abnormal bouncing of the switch during the entire firing cycle to ignore them completely.

In other word, Burst Wizard allows any trigger switches to bounce by vibration or non-perfect contacts and still function correctly.

It even helps in the plug-and-play mode operation too. Unlike most MOSFETs circuits that faithfully relate the trigger contact on/off signals to the MOSFET that result in many ON/OFF cycles, Burst Wizard computer intercepts the trigger switch signals and provide a smooth solid ON signal to the MOSFET during the entire firing cycle (semi-auto or fullauto). So, the MOSFET and its active braking components are immune from glitches and bouncing from micro switch and imperfect contacts. With soft start, your micro switch will last as long as if not longer than when you run your AEG without a Burst Wizard.

If you choose to hardwire Burst Wizard with a micro switch AEG, It 100% percent protects your trigger switch since only 500 micro amp of current is passing through it. Plus, it takes care of any glitches caused by micro switch bouncing or imperfect switch contacts so that the MOSFET can stay at solid ON during the entire firing cycle to deliver 100% power to the motor!

Demystify AEG MOSFETs For Everyday Airsoft Players.

MOSFET is nothing more than just an electronic ON/OFF switch.

To tell you the truth, it is just a gadget that tries to save you a few bucks down the road on replacing an aged trigger switch!

But by that time, you probably had replaced the gear components; piston and/or spring a couple times already. Who really cares about replacing one more inexpensive trigger switch!

MOSFET makers know it! So, to lure you into attempting such a big tech work to opening up and modifying the gearbox and spend much more money than just a trigger switch, they put out fancy terms like hair trigger response, micro switch, higher ROF and controversial active braking to justify the need!

Who really needs a MOSFET then?
Technically, NO ONE! That’s why MOSFET and I emphasize 'if just MOSFET alone' WILL never become a main stream upgrade item on anyone's list!

Yes, MOSFET is the ideal ON/OFF switch for high power application like in Airsoft guns, especially when high power 11.1V LIPO batteries are being used with them. But many of today’s AEGs are not LIPO ready yet to handle the extra force (torque) and speed involved.

That is why 99% of Airsoft players can’t justify to spend crazy money on MOSFET products that cost as much as your whole AEG! I don’t care how high tech, feature rich and modulo design the BTC, ASCU and the likes are.

Burst Wizard approach is to give everyday players like you an alternative low cost device that can either act as a simple plug-and-play firing controller or a standard hardwired computer controlled true MOSFET to suit your need and skill set and give you many practical and desirable functions that most of you express the need of them but are missing from most of the AEGs on the market.

Now, your games are MUCH more fun and, at the same time, knowing that you have put extra protection to enhance the usage life of your beloved AEG and battery too.

So, I hope most of you would say, 'Why not'

Here is the list of what Burst Wizard can upgrade your AEG with:

1) Out of the box 3-round burst with 0.6 sec resume to fullauto if trigger is held

2) Save you $ BB $

3) Adaptive Resettable fuse that doesn’t false trip to protect your AEG gearbox/motor

4) Lock your AEG to semi-auto only to comply with some field rules

5) LIPO / LiFe battery low voltage warning and cutoff protection

6) Small size to fit into most battery compartment

7) Hair trigger response when precocking feature is used

8) MILSIM sniper delay firing mode (comply with some field rules for high FPS guns)

9) MILSIM Magazine capacity and change time

10) The only motor friendly active braking implementation

11) Every feature is reprogrammable using your AEG by pulling the trigger switch at power start

12) Choice of advanced BW 3 model to get Polar Star performance at 1/10 cost

13) Choice of Advanced BW 3 model to make your AEG much more LIPO ready

Which one of these two do you think has a better chance to fit into your battery compartment? Not to mention the smaller...

Which one of these two do you think has a better chance to fit into your battery compartment? Not to mention the smaller one (BWKKS2) has much more useful features and is much easier to master how to program it aside its large amount of programmable functions!

Why Gate MERF 3,2 MOSFET can't stand side-by-side
with Burst Wizard 2 or 3 when features and values are compared!
Feature BW2 Vs GATE MERF 3.2

1 -Burst Mode-
BW: settable to precise 1 ~ 9 burst in 10 seconds
Gate: 5 minutes try and error programming to set to right timing
using steps of 5 milliseconds only to find it not precise during playing time due to battery discharge cycle.

2 -Resume Fullauto-
BW: settable 0.1sec delay & up
Gate: Not supported. Stuck at Burst mode

3 -lock To Semi-
BW: Yes, disable fullauto & burst = 1
Gate: Yes, but another 5 minutes reprogramming again

4 -Hardwire Mode-
BW: Yes, Automatic true MOSFET mode
Gate: Yes, you need program it again,

5 -Use #1 MOSFET-
BW: Yes, IRF3034S-7PP MOSFET
Gate: No, 3-PIN less powerful MOSFET

6 -Heat Dissipation-
BW: Great, 1/2 board as heatsink
Gate: Poor, heat has not place to go

7 -Lipo protection-
BW: Yes
Gate:Yes

8 -LiFe protection-
BW: Yes
Gate: Yes

9 -ROF change-
BW: Yes PWM mode (BW3 use no trigger response loss method)
Gate: Yes PWM mode

10 -Precocking-
BW: Yes
Gate: No

11 -Sinper MILSIM-
Bw: Yes, settable 0.2sec delay & up
Gate: No

12 -BB fired counting-
BW: Yes, Magazine change MILSIM
Gate: No

13 -Resettable fuse-
BW: Yes, Adapt to your AEG power
Gate: Yes, false trigger a lot with M160 spring

14 -Tell battery voltage-
BW: Yes, you can ask it
Gate: No

15 -Tell ROF-
BW: Yes, you can ask it
Gate: No

16 -Size-
BW: 1/3 smaller 1.3"Lx0.6"Wx0.3"H
Gate: BIG, 1.8"L x 0.72"W x 0.3"H

17 -MSRP-
BW: $37.99 (BW2) ~ $49.99 (BW 3)
Gate: $50 ~ 55

Note1: The above comparison only lists out the BW 2 features. BW 3 has the World's only MILSIM features to turn your AEG to Polar Star kind of performance at 1/10th the cost.

Note2: Just the size, resettable fuse and resume fullauto functions on top of precise burst count firing is enough to choose Burst Wizard MOSFETs and they are cheaper too!

Facts that I found out from testing the Swiss Arms:

1) Doesn’t work if your spring is M120 or bigger. 5 round burst becomes half round burst or 1 round burst. Very erratic.

2) Doesn’t work if your spring is M100 or less. 3 round burst becomes 5 round burst or more.

3) Very sluggish trigger response between completed burst round. If you press the trigger immediately right after a completed burst round, your AEG does not fire 50% of the time.

4) Doesn’t work with 8.4V or 9.6V NIMH well at all. If you are lucky to find an AEG where its spring strength is just right (M110), then it works with 11.1V LIPO provided you can live with an extra count.

But if you try to use a freshly charged 8.4V 1000mAh battery, even after you’ve set the mosfet to 8.4V NIMH, it will just fire ½ or 1 shot instead of 3-round burst.

Even worse, it will give you a double beep and stop firing at all very often. This is its way to tell you that your battery is not strong enough. But just connecting the battery to the AEG directly works perfectly!

5) The MOSFET and the active braking MOSFET are very hot and no place to dissipate the heat

6) Conclusion: This is not a plug-and-play MOSFET for any AEG. May just work for 30% of the AEG out there at best! But without resume to fullauto capability, you are handicapped by using it instead of helping you to gain an edge in your game along with saving BBs like the Burst Wizard does.

Not to mention other Burst Wizard features: Adaptive Resettable fuse to protect every important thing and doesn't false trigger like theirs, ROF adjustment, Resume fullauto, Sniper delay MILSIM, Magazine capacity and change MILSIM, precocking option, HARDWIRE capable andTap burst.

The most amazing part of the Burst Wizard is its ability to work for any AEG with M90 to M170 spring and any battery types from 7.4V to 16.5V by allowing you to calibrate your AEG if needed using simple programming steps with sound and light feedback by pulling the trigger switch at power start.
