Your athlete's talent got the coach's attention. 👍
Silence lost it. 👎

Recruiting is a relationship game. The athletes who communicate consistently are the ones who get the offers.

Don't go quiet. Stay visible. 🎯

Here's what athletes who land offers do differently:
✅ Respond to coaches within 24 hours
✅ Ask questions that keep conversations going
✅ Share videos showing improvement over time
✅ Send regular updates on performance & academics

Talent gets attention. Communication keeps it.

💬 Drop a 🙋 below if your athlete is currently in the recruiting process and struggling with consistent and effective communication with coaches — we'd love to help!

AI is a great tool.
We use it.
We recommend it.

But be careful about treating everything AI tells you as fact.

We recently did a simple search on 2027 college recruiting timelines and commitment reporting. Some of the information was flat-out wrong.

AI can help you gather information faster, brainstorm ideas, and learn new topics. What it cannot do is replace experience, context, and expertise from people who work in the space every day.

Use AI as a starting point, not the final answer.

Trust, but verify.

AI is powerful. Human expertise still matters. (Misinformation Review)

YOU ARE YOUR NUMBERS.

One of the biggest mistakes players make in recruiting is identifying with the level they want to play rather than the level their current production supports.

Everyone wants to be Division I. Everyone wants to play at the highest level possible.

But college coaches don’t recruit aspirations. They recruit production.

Be careful about hiding numbers, over-contextualizing statistics, or combining data in ways that make performance look better than it really is. While those things may make you feel better in the short term, they don’t change how college coaches evaluate players.

Coaches will look at the numbers. They will compare them to other recruits. They will make an assessment.

The good news? Your current numbers do not have to define your future.

Development changes everything.

If you want a higher level, focus less on explaining your numbers and more on improving them.

You are your numbers today.

What level you reach tomorrow depends on the work you put in between now and then.

Meet one of our newest baseball advisors, Brian Brewer! While he's somewhat new to CAA, he is certainly not new to the game of baseball. 👇

Brian brings over 30 years of college baseball coaching experience as well as his experience garnered through various college administrative roles during that time. Brian has served as a head baseball coach for over 26 years and was an assistant coach for six. Additionally, Brian has been an assistant athletic director, interim athletic director, physical education chairmen, intramural director, and adjunct professor during that span. He has seen the recruiting process from nearly every angle, including being a parent of a prospective student-athlete.

Brian graduated from Marietta College, OH in 1993 following an All-American playing career while earning his degree in Physical Education. Upon receiving his degree, Brian took a graduate assistant position at John Carroll University and served as an assistant baseball coach and physical education instructor. Immediately upon receiving his master's degree in Education with a concentration in chemical dependency in 1995 he was named the head baseball coach at John Carroll University. After four years as the head coach Brian returned to his alma mater, Marietta College, as an assistant coach. Following four years as an assistant coach Brian was named the head baseball coach at Marietta College in June of 2003, a role he remained in for the next 22+ years.

Brian is a native of Glen Burnie, MD and was voted team captain his senior year at Marietta College. During his coaching tenure Brewer has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference COY and NCAA DIII Mideast Regional COY on several occasions. In 2006, 2011, and 2012 Brian was named the NCAA DIII National COY as a result of his clubs winning the NCAA DIII National Championship each of those years. Brewer has been a speaker at several baseball conventions over the years at the state, regional and national levels. Brian, his wife Wendy, and daughter Charlie currently live in Marietta, OH. They also have two grown sons, Drew and Jesse.

Say hi to Brian 👋 and if you are in the Ohio area, reach out to get the conversation started!

Players, if you keep hearing the same message over and over again, maybe it’s something worth paying attention to.

In this video, coach talks about why he believes junior college can be a tremendous path for many high school athletes.

Every player’s journey is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all recruiting path. But one mistake we see too often is players writing off junior colleges before they fully understand the opportunities available.

Junior colleges can provide:
✅ More playing opportunities
✅ More development time
✅ A chance to mature physically and academically
✅ A pathway to higher levels of college baseball

Most importantly, if a junior college coach reaches out to you during the recruiting process, don’t ignore them. Don’t assume it’s not the right fit. Have the conversation. Learn about the opportunity. Gather information before making a decision.

Keep an open mind. The goal isn’t to commit the fastest, it’s to find the best fit for your future.
