Also, There is a great exhibition at Phoenix Art Museum about Indian sword fighting in mythology and Wednesdays are free at the museum. So is anyone free on Wednesday 4/25 and we will also stop at ASU's downtown campus to take a picture as well. Email me back if you can?
Film screening: After/life (followed by discussion with director Puck Lo)
Sponsor Organization: Barrett, the Honors College
Campus: Tempe
Date and Time: Wednesday April 25, 6:30 PM
Location: Barrett Theater at Vista del Sol
Funneled by the border-wall into the desert, migrants wander into the Barry M. Goldwater Bombing Range. A "Wild West" landscape of towering cacti punctuated by fake Iraqi villages, practice targets for lethal ordnance, the BMGR is a place of death. But the desert is also a place of life: it preserves and memorializes what it takes. What do the events of the Arizona desert reveal about the nightmare unconscious of this country that runs on permanent war?
After/Life is a powerful short documentary. It had its international premier at the Berlin Film Festival early this year: join us for its Arizona premier. Afterwards we'll have a chance to talk to director Puck Lo, and with others involved in search-and-rescue missions in the Sonoran Desert.
