Today in golf history, Saint Andrews Golf Club opened in Yonkers, New York on November 14th 1888 with only 6 holes. Saint Andrews Golf Club is the oldest continuously operating golf club in the United States and was a founding member of the United States Golf Association. It was home to the first U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open Championships in 1894.
