Perimenopause is the PERFECT time to start lifting! Scientific evidence is telling us one of the best ways to support our hormones, bones, body, and mental health is by lifting weights. So many women don’t know where to start or what to do, so that’s why I’m here!

I’m currently working on a new Perimenopause Program that takes clients from workout basics to confidently lifting heavy in 6 months - no previous experience required!

Check out this Week 1 Workout which takes about 35-40 minutes, and give it a try! There will be two programs - one for gym workouts and one for at home workouts. Let me know your thoughts when you finish!! ✨

Perimenopause is the natural transition phase leading up to menopause, which can start as early as mid-30’s and last up to 15 years until your last period. During this time, the body’s hormones (especially estrogen and progesterone) start to fluctuate leading to a wide array of symptoms that can be really disruptive:
•Sleep disturbances
•Weight gain, especially around the midsection, even if your habits haven’t changed
•Fatigue or lower energy
•Muscle tone is more difficult to maintain
•Mood swings
•Brain fog
•Itchy ears
And many, many more.

But here’s the good news: exercise is one of your strongest tools during this phase. Strength training, consistent movement, and proper nutrition can help balance hormones, protect bone density, and boost confidence.

If you’re in this stage, remember - your body isn’t “failing” you. It’s evolving. With the right approach and support system, you can continue to feel strong, vibrant, and in control.

So excited for my new toy!
LADIES - if you are late 30’s or older, maintaining strong bone density is vital to preventing osteoporosis. How do we do that? By increasing muscle mass and connective tissue strength. How do we do that again? By performing resistance training. A weighted vest is a great way to do that even when you’re just taking care of things around the house or running errands. Level up your workout with one of these babies!
Your goal should be to get to 10% of your body weight, so start with maybe an 8 pound vest and work your way up. And as always - move your bodies today babes ✨

Meal Prepping

Meal prepping is so important for me to stay on track nutritionally during the week. However, the week prior to starting my cycle is even more important. Without making this effort, I will spend way too much money eating vats of mac and cheese from Panera. Is this the healthiest meal prep ever? Absolutely not. But it will satisfy my hormonal cravings while avoiding copious amounts of cheese🤣

Taking the time on the weekends to meal prep sets you up for a more consistent week. If your work weeks are on the crazy side, I highly recommend making this effort.

Happy Sunday babes!! And get your body moving today 💪🏼

This is a reminder that we can do hard things. Six years ago my husband and I decided due to our current circumstances, he would do his masters degree first and I’d go back for whatever I wanted afterwards. Shortly after he started back we had our son. I managed everything while we both worked full time so he could get through his program. Now, it’s my turn. I just finished my first full semester back, while working full time and momming solo part of the week.

I refuse to make it seem like parts of my life haven’t suffered, because that paints an unrealistic picture of what we are going through. Sleep, diet, and exercise have been the biggest things personally. I’ve been more distant from my child and husband than I normally am. CPA licensure is rigorous and I keep having to remind myself that I’m doing this for our future, for our child’s future.

I always talk about the importance of giving ourselves grace in our fitness and health journey, and that there are constant ebbs and flows, because let’s face it… that’s how LIFE works! If you are in the middle of life’s difficulties, know that it’s okay! You will make it to the other side and when you have space for it, you can prioritize yourself. This isn’t the end, it’s the middle. We can do hard things.
