โ ๏ธ This is a VERY IMPORTANT public service announcement โ ๏ธ:
River season is finally in full swing! And alongside the rivers rising, we are seeing a massive uptick of those seeking to get outside and recreate on the water. Some time later, near the end of our trip, they caught up with us, wearing their ankle leashes. Again, we asked them to take them off, informing again how dangerous they are. We also informed them that when other people (those less knowledgeable about river safely) see them wearing ankle leashes, those people think itโs okay. And as it is with human nature, because one person sees something and thinks itโs okay, more follow suit and it then spreads like wildfire. Unfortunately, to our disappointment, after educating and asking nicely for these paddlers twice to remove their ankle leashes, they refused to and continued paddling on.
