OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES
Friday Nig

ht Three Keepers Club 2022

1. Rule Changes: Decisions of the Tournament Director are final and are not subject to appeal. Interpretation of these rules will be left exclusively to the Tournament Director. Protests must be made in writing prior to the official closing of the scales at each tournament.

2. Membership: Participants must be a member of the Friday Night 3 Keepers club by paying a yearly membership fee of $25. This fee is waived for any participant 17 years of age or younger. Three Keepers Club LLC directors reserve the right to refuse membership or participation in the tournament at their sole discretion.

3. Pre-Tournament Practice: Tournament waters are off limits the day of each tournament from Midnight the night before.

4. Registration: Registration for each tournament is 90 minutes prior to the start of each tournament and last for one hour. Tournaments scheduled for 6:00 PM will have registration from 4:30 PM until 5:30 PM. Saturday Tournaments beginning at 8:00 AM will have registration from 6:30 AM until 7:30 AM.

5. Fees: The entry fee for each boat is $30. A boat will consist of up to two (2) anglers. A third angler, 10 years old and younger, may fully participate in the tournament up to twice during the season.

6. Safety: Safe boating must be observed at all times. Each contestant is required to wear a fastened, U.S. Coast Guard approved, personal flotation device anytime the boat is on plane. All boats must be equipped with an emergency ignition shut-off device, which must be securely attached to the driver's body any time the boat is on plane. All boats must have and use navigation lights during low light conditions. Tournament day(s) may be shortened or canceled due to unsafe weather or any conditions that would endanger the safety of the competitors. The decision to shorten or cancel tournament days will be determined by the Tournament Director.

7. Fall Classic Qualification: Anglers must fish at least 8 tournaments to qualify for the final fall classic. Buy ins are not permitted

8. Permitted Fishing Methods: All bass must be caught alive in a conventional sporting manner. Only artificial lures may be used with the exception of pork trailers. Only one fishing rod per angler may be used at any one time. Additional rods may be in the boat and ready for use; however, each cast and retrieve must be completed before another cast or rod is used. Trolling with the combustion engine as a method of fishing is prohibited. Sharing fish with other teams or individuals will result in immediate disqualification for all parties involved. All angling must be conducted from the boat. At no time may a contestant leave the boat to land a fish or to make the boat more accessible to fishing waters.

9. Sportsmanship and Conduct: All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, conservation and to conduct themselves in a manner that will be a credit to themselves, to Friday Night 3 Keepers, sponsors, and the sport of fishing. Some areas of emphasis

10. Boat Operation and Right of Way: At launch there is to be no passing of boats in the Marina no wake zone. Boats shall maintain a distance of 50 yards from any Anchored competitor’s boat, and shall not cut in front of another competitor’s boat working a bank at a distance closer than 50 yards. When two competitor’s boats approach each other working the same bank, the boat whose starboard side is closest to bank has right of way, and the opposing boat shall maintain a distance to not impede the oncoming boats casting. During hours of competition, contestants may not receive assistance from non-competitors, follow a non-competitor's boat, participate in the practice of "hole sitting", or the placing of markers by non-competitors.

11. Boat and Horsepower Regulation: Each boat must have all required U.S. Coast Guard safety equipment. Boats must contain a properly aerated live well with space to maintain alive a limit catch of bass. Maximum horsepower for all outboards used in tournament competition may not exceed the horsepower limitations as displayed on the manufactures rating plate. By signing the entry form, each contestant agrees to submit their boat and/or motor to an inspection. Falsifying information on entry forms or altering the horsepower numbers on the motor or rating plate will be cause for disqualification from the tournament and may result in future ineligibility to enter.

12. Permitted Fishing Locations: Contestants may fish anywhere on Taylorsville Lake accessible by boat from the host ramp, except areas designated as "off limits" or "no fishing" by state or federal officials. In addition, no contestant may fish Within 100 yards of Settlers Trace Marina (Defined by the boat dock edge closest to the ramp, and the no fishing buoy to the North), nor may they fish Within the No-Wake Zone at Possum Ridge boat ramp (defined by the metal stake North of the Ramp and the sidewalk edge to the south)

13. Off-Limit Areas: Contestants fishing inside the established off-limits area will be immediately disqualified. Contestants' boats must remain in the tournament waters during the event.

14. Live well Check: All contestants must have their live well inspected by tournament officials immediately prior to entering the water. Live Well checks will close 10 minutes prior to the start of the tournament. Those not in the water by this time risk disqualification.

15. Take Off: All boats must wait within the no wake zone until their boat number is called to launch

16. Weigh In: All boats must return their chip to the scales by the designated time (Friday nights at 10:00PM, Saturdays 12:00 pm) unless otherwise noted at launch. No late chips will be accepted. The official time will always be based on the cellphone time of the tournament director or his/her designee. Only Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted Bass will be weighed. 3 Fish limit at weigh in. Boats may possess more than 3 fish, but can only present 3 fish at weigh in. All fish at weigh in must be 15 inches in length measured mouth closed and tail squeezed. Fish must touch the 15-inch line to qualify. Dead fish will be assessed a ½ lb. penalty against total weight. Short fish presented for weigh in will not be weighed, and the team presenting a short fish will incur a 1 lb. penalty against their total weight. The actual weight of the big fish will count even if dead. All weights will be assigned to each angler on the boat equally. The Tournament does provide courtesy checks, BUT participants must request them upon presentation of their chip at weigh-in. The courtesy check may happen immediately prior to weighing in the bag.

17. Dead Fish Penalty: Every effort must be made to keep bass alive through the use of a properly aerated live well. The use of chemical live-well additives which promote the healthy return of bass to their natural habitat are recommended. DEAD FISH presented for weigh-in will incur a ½ pound penalty for their total bag weight. The penalty will NOT affect the weight recorded for big fish.

18. Late Penalty: Contestants who are not officially checked-in at the appointed time will be disqualified from weighing fish. In the event of a mechanical breakdown, a contestant may return to the check-in location with their catch by receiving a ride from another registered contestant or tournament official only. Prior to receiving help, the contestant must contact the tournament director.

19. Closing of the Scales: Scales will close 30 minutes after chips are due in. Due to certain weigh-in conditions this time may be lengthened or shortened at the tournament director’s sole discretion. Any change to the above stated official scale closing time policy will be announced. It is the angler’s responsibility to verify the official scale closing time and to be in the weigh-in line by that time.

20. Tournament Prizes/Pools: Cash prizes will be awarded based on number of boats in each tournament. A separate cash prize for Big Fish will also be awarded. Membership Fees, a small percentage of each entry, and any late fees collected will be set aside for the Classic.

21. Ties: All ties will be decided by Big Fish weight. All ties after that will be resolved by splitting that place’s awards.

22. Restricting, Seeding or Baiting: No restricting bass by any method which disallows natural movement throughout the entire impoundment. Seeding bass from one impoundment to the tournament impoundment, or any coordinated effort in the use of live bait, in baiting holes for the means of attracting or maintaining bass is prohibited. The act of moving bass from one area of the lake to another confined area of the same lake is not permitted.

23. Rules Violation: Infringement of any rules can cause disqualification from the current and/or expulsion from the club and future future tournaments. Interpretation of these rules shall be left exclusively to the directors of the Three Keepers Club, LLC, and their decision will be final.
