Welcome to FAQ Fridays! Where we provide answers to some of your most common questions.
Q❓: “What’s the minimum age to climb? What about to attend camps or join the team?”
A 💡: We find that a lot of kids take to climbing naturally. At CBR, we provide plenty of opportunities for kids to enjoy climbing.
While we maintain that there is no minimum age to climb at our gym, we do require a signed waiver for every climber; whether they are trying it out first or diving right in.
For those who are unsure if their child would be comfortable in a harness, we recommend that when you come in, ask the staff first if your child can try the gear. If they take to it, then you can proceed with paying the day pass fee for toproping. Climbers also have the option to boulder, which is to climb to a certain height without a harness. They would need a spotter and a pad.
Children of all ages are always welcome to climb with adult supervision.
If you are looking for opportunities to drop them off while they climb, you can check out our Parent’s Night Out program which is every Second Saturday from 6:30-9:30pm or sign up for one of our seasonal camps or sign up for the Youth Climbing Team. These events do have a minimum age of 6 years old to ensure that the program is a good fit for the child and vice versa.
Our Homeschool Climbing Days held every Second and Fourth Mondays from 2-4pm is designed for homeschool kids in grades K-12 but, like our general admission, younger children are welcome to join as long as every kid has adult supervision.
We also have our Preschool Rocks program every first Tuesdays from 9-11am. This program is , designed exclusively for preschoolers and their accompanying adult so you can be sure that you are in a safe space with children of the same age range.
CBR is a great place to have your child’s birthday party! You get exclusive use of our upstairs area to take your event to the next level - literally 😁
As you can see, CBR provides lots of options for the whole family to enjoy climbing! Check out our website www.climbbr.com or better yet, stop by soon and climb on 🧗
