Dear TSB Families,
As we head into the exciting final stretch of the season for our 4-12 divisions and gear up for the start of our 13-16 senior players, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible memories made on the field so far.
However, looking ahead to the future, we need to have a candid, heart-to-heart conversation about what goes on behind the scenes.
We Need Your Help to Keep Little League Alive
There is a common misconception that our league is run by the city or the local recreation center. It is not.
We are a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization chartered through Little League International. Every single game scheduled, field lined, and jersey ordered is done by parents and grandparents just like you. Right now, a very small handful of volunteers are doing everything, and they are burning out.
We completely understand that everyone is busy with work, family, and life. But without a larger community effort, the hard truth is that we will not be able to sustain the league next season. To put it into perspective, a recent quote on community service rings incredibly true for us:
"The world is hugged by the faithful, but it is often carried by the few who show up, while others assume someone else will do it."
We cannot assume someone else will do it anymore. We need you.
Volunteer Roles for Next Season We will help guide you.
To set us up for success next year, we are looking to fill several vital positions right now:
Sponsorship Coordinators: Help us connect with local businesses to secure team sponsorships and donations that keep our registration fees affordable.
Equipment manager: prepping team bags
Background checks
Player Agents (Multiple Positions Needed): We need dedicated Agents to act as the main point of contact for families and coaches. Ideally, we need 1 or 2 agents for each of the following divisions (covering both Baseball and Softball):
T-Ball & Farm Division
Minors & Majors
Juniors & Seniors
What Does a Little League Player Agent Do?
The Player Agent is one of the most rewarding roles on the board because you directly oversee the player experience. You don't need to be a baseball expert—just organized and communicative. Key duties include:
The Main Point of Contact: Serving as the go-to person for parents and coaches in your specific division if they have questions or concerns.
Managing Rosters & Tryouts: Overseeing player registration, assisting with division tryouts/evaluations, and ensuring teams are balanced fairly.
The League Draft: Conducting the player draft for your division in accordance with Little League International rules.
Player Safety & Compliance: Ensuring players are placed in the correct divisions based on age and skill level, and managing any mid-season player transfers or call-ups.
How to Step Up
Many hands make light work. If your child has enjoyed their time on the field, please consider giving a little bit of your time to ensure they—and future generations—can keep playing.
If you can help with any of these roles, or if you just want to see where you might fit in, please reply directly to this email.
Thank you for your support, your passion, and for helping us keep Little League alive in our community.
Best regards,
TBS
