Scott Football Families,
As we continue through our summer workouts and conditioning, I want to stress how important it is for our players to be in attendance throughout the month of June.
While these workouts are considered voluntary, they play a huge role in preparing our athletes for the season ahead. This is the time when we build our strength, improve our conditioning, and get our bodies ready for the physical demands of football. The work we put in now will directly impact our success and help keep our athletes healthy throughout the season.
Just as important as the physical preparation is the opportunity to build our team. We are learning about each other, developing trust, creating accountability, and establishing the chemistry that strong football teams are built on. The relationships and habits formed during June often become the foundation for success in the fall.
The urgency is even greater this year because when we return from Dead Period, we will immediately begin a busy stretch of summer competition. Our players need to be prepared physically and mentally for the following events:
• Tuesday, July 14 – Varsity 7-on-7 at Lloyd High School
• Friday, July 17 – Scott vs. Simon Kenton (All Players) at Scott High School
• Tuesday, July 21 – Varsity 7-on-7 at Cooper High School
• Friday, July 24 – Varsity 7-on-7 at Newport Central Catholic
• Saturday, July 25 – Freshman 7-on-7 at Dixie Heights (9:00 AM)
These events will give us valuable opportunities to compete, evaluate our progress, and continue preparing for the season. The work we do in June will determine how ready we are when those dates arrive.
We understand that families have vacations and other commitments during the summer, but we ask that players attend as consistently as possible. Every workout matters, every rep matters, and every day together helps us move closer to becoming the team we want to be.
Thank you for your continued support of Scott Football. We are excited about the direction of this program and look forward to building something special together.
