If you're planning to paddle on Lake Dora, this is a great video to watch! ๐Ÿ‘€

We're fortunate to share the waterfront with our friends at Jones Brothers Air and Seaplane Adventures, and they do an excellent job explaining how seaplanes operate on the water. They follow both U.S. Coast Guard navigation rules and FAA regulations to keep everyone safe.

When you see a seaplane taxiing, taking off, or landing, give it plenty of space.

And remember the old rule of tonnage...when you're in a kayak or on a paddleboard and the other "boat" is an airplane, it's probably best to let them win. ๐Ÿ˜„ Trust us...the paddler loses every time!

Enjoy the video, and thanks for helping keep Lake Dora safe for everyone on the water.

A fresh marker for one of our favorite paddling routes! ๐Ÿ›ถ๐ŸŒฟ

If you've ever wondered what these signs are, they're part of Lake County's Blueway Trail System, a network of designated paddling routes that help guide kayakers and paddle boarders through some of the most scenic waterways in Central Florida.

This brand new marker identifies Blueway 4 โ€“ Golden Triangle Run, one of our favorite side canals off the Dora Canal. It's a peaceful little detour filled with towering cypress trees, Spanish moss, and the chance to spot wildlife away from the main channel.

We're incredibly fortunate to have more than 160 miles of designated Blueway paddling trails right here in Lake County. Whether you're looking for a quiet paddle, a wildlife adventure, or a new route to explore, these trails showcase the very best of Florida's natural beauty.

The next time you're out on the water, keep an eye out for these markers. They might just lead you to your new favorite paddle. ๐Ÿ’š

Have you explored Blueway 4 yet?

Sending Love to Jackie โค๏ธ

Many of you know we're huge fans of Big Bear's famous bald eagle pair, Jackie & Shadow, and like so many around the world, our hearts have been with Jackie this week.

After an apparent territorial fight with other eagles, Jackie was rescued and is now receiving expert care. The latest update is encouragingโ€”she is alert, perching, and eating with assistance. While she still has a road to recovery ahead, she's in the best hands possible.

We're incredibly thankful to everyone who came together to help protect herโ€”from local residents and visitors, to Captain Dennis Jones and the San Bernardino County Fire team, the San Dimas Raptor Rescue Team, and the dedicated staff at Ojai Raptor Center. Their quick actions gave Jackie the chance she needed.

Today we're sharing the rescue video in honor of everyone working tirelessly to care for our wildlife. Please join us in sending your thoughts and prayers for a full recovery and, hopefully, a reunion with her devoted mate, Shadow. ๐Ÿ’™

If you'd like to support Jackie and the incredible organizations caring for her, please visit the comments for donation links, including ways to support her rehabilitation and help protect Moon Camp, the habitat she and Shadow call home.

Wildlife reminds us every day how connected we all are. Here's to a strong recovery, Jackie. We're all rooting for you. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฆ…

First customer of the day was a little... squirrelly. ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ

He climbed right up our screen door like he was checking to see if his kayak was ready.
Sorry little buddy... you'll have to wait your turn! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Who else thinks he was trying to sneak onto a paddle through the Dora Canal?
